Lets take a look at this region's top teams and players as we journey into the beginning of the season.

Preseason Player of the Year

[player_tooltip player_id='1851879' first='Braydun' last='Ferris']: I have no reason to believe anyone else will overtake Ferris for this status. This region certainly has the most talent and maybe the best collection of teams but Ferris is tried and tested in the toughest matchups and situations and seems to always prevail. He's bringing back a 20ppg average with also being one of the state's top point guards.

Top College Prospects

[player_tooltip player_id='1851879' first='Braydun' last='Ferris'], [player_tooltip player_id='2531107' first='Noah' last='Keaton'], [player_tooltip player_id='2390884' first='Grady' last='Paynter'], [player_tooltip player_id='2715345' first='Micaiah' last='Ehirim'], [player_tooltip player_id='2390886' first='Isaiah' last='Sanders'], [player_tooltip player_id='2840106' first='Charlie' last='Long']

State Tournament Qualifier Prediction

St Joseph Central: I think St Joe not only advances but I'm predicting them as the favorite to win it this season. With advancing last year with a relatively young squad they didn't quite perform up to their own standards. But they did get a taste of what it takes to get there and advance to Friday. St Joe's has plenty of weapons who can shoot it and put it on the floor with [player_tooltip player_id='2531107' first='Noah' last='Keaton'] (16ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='2715345' first='Micaiah' last='Ehirim'] (12ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2390886' first='Isaiah' last='Sanders'] (14ppg), add in the likely emergence of Cylis Allen who was just under a double figures average last season. This squad isn't overwhelming with size, however their athletic ability and depth that stretches deep into the roster is what could overmatch everyone else I believe.

Tug Valley: TV is one of the state tournament blue bloods if there were such a thing. It's just a given they'll be there. They will return a roster with plenty of experience including state tournament experience as well as state titles. Most recently senior [player_tooltip player_id='2822627' first='Bryson' last='Elia'] has required surgery from a football injury but the Panthers will return all-everything [player_tooltip player_id='1851879' first='Braydun' last='Ferris'] and wingman [player_tooltip player_id='2390881' first='Carson' last='Newsome'] who'll bring up a younger cast around them but until someone proves us wrong, TV is at the top of this region.

Darkhorse

I might get challenged on this from some (especially LKC fans) but I think Man has a resurgence this year and is the darkhorse in this region. Experience matters in finding your path to Charleston and coach Blevins has it. Man has nice size and now has some experience with a squad that managed 15 wins last year. Momentum seems to be in their favor so who knows what could become of their future in March. Wahama has a nice inside/out combination and Wirt will be long and fairly athletic so either have a shot of playing spoiler.

Regional Roundup

In the Out door: St Joe's has regained transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2390884' first='Grady' last='Paynter'] while losing [player_tooltip player_id='2345856' first='Nymir' last='Bryant'] who transferred down the street to Spring Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id='2891789' first='Zade' last='Rash'] had been reported to be an incoming transfer for Tug Valley, as of publishing time I can neither confirm or deny that has happened.
