The OHSAA basketball season starts a week from today and Prep Hoops has previewed each Division with a top 10 list as well as a watchlist for teams we think have the best chance to make it to Dayton at the end of the year. In this article we'll break down teams 4-6 in our preseason rankings.

4. Cincinnati Princeton

I saw the Vikings at the Lima Mega Scrimmage and they were very impressive as their team chemistry is on another level this year. The Puerto Rican backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id='2464138' first='Rognny' last='Santiago Lugo'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2712640' first='Sebastian' last='Jordan'] can really shoot it and the Vikings are of course led by star junior [player_tooltip player_id='2453406' first='A'Mire' last='Gill'] who has a handful of Division I offers. Playing in a loaded GMC with some of the top teams in the greater Cincinnati area, Princeton will have plenty of games where they will be under the spotlight of the region.

5. Reynoldsburg

The defending state runners-up, Reynoldsburg is still led by OU commit duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1705956' first='Xavier' last='McKinney'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1705958' first='Jorden' last='Bowens']. The elevation of [player_tooltip player_id='2677150' first='Mekhi' last='Roddy'] might be the most important piece this season as he gives the Raiders another primary scoring option after graduating two Division I commits from last year in Jordan Fisher and Toby Nwokolo. I've been impressed with the bodies Reynoldsburg has thrown out there during June and fall basketball, having some intriguing athletes who can really move their feet and jump in transition.

6. Olentangy Orange

The defending state champions, Olentangy Orange has a very different looking team this year but I still expect them to be one of the top teams in the state. There might not be a more improved player in the state from last winter to this winter than [player_tooltip player_id='2443748' first='Grant' last='Miller']. Miller lost significant weight due to an illness last season, which caused him to try and re-gain that weight during the course of the Pioneers state title run. Now, Miller is the dominant force in the paint and has been wrecking havoc in scrimmages already this season. [player_tooltip player_id='2621329' first='Treyton' last='Schroeder'] is another name to watch as a returning stater who checks a lot of boxes that help you win and is an impressive football prospect as well. Olentangy Orange has been stacking excellent JV seasons and those players have waited their turn to make an impact on varsity after the loaded 2025 class finally graduated. This year, it's their time to lead the program and carry on the winning tradition as Olentangy Orange lost back-to-back regional title games before finally breaking through and winning the state title.
