Schroder is a flamethrower. He has the ultimate green light and can change the momentum of a game with his shooting ability. The ball comes off his hands so quickly and with such an intense spin on it. He has an unlimited range and can shoot off the catch at an elite level. He is one of the few players who are returning from the state title team from last year. He shows this with the way he oppurates the offense.

I’ve been really impressed with how comfortable Schroeder has been as the now primary facilitator and creator for an Olentangy Orange squad that won a state title last season with a senior laden group that still has high expectations despite all the losses to graduation. If Olentangy Orange is going to compete for another regional title, they’ll need Schroeder to keep up his high level of play from the month of June on both ends of the court. A big-time competitor, Schroeder gets after it defensively and also makes sure to get his teammates involved while also knocking down set shots from 3-point range. Small guards need to check a lot of boxes to be a priority for college programs and Schroeder’s ability to impact the game in so many ways has him on numerous radars across Ohio.

Olentangy Orange graduated a ton of production from their state championship squad but they still have plenty of talent to give teams trouble this season. Schroeder has gone from a complimentary guard who played hard defensively and made an open shot to the full-time facilitator who can run the show. I love the intangibles Schroeder plays with, always giving 100% effort and he demanded the ball when his team was in a funk offensively. With the crisp offense Olentangy Orange runs in the half-court, Schroeder still gets some shots off the catch that he knocked down at a high clip. Fun to see Schroeder take on a lead role as a rising senior.

A state champion on the hardwood, Schroeder helped Olentangy Orange win the Division I state title with some clutch play in their postseason run. Another multi-sport athlete, Schroeder has also been all-state for football at defensive back as well. Able to play on or off the ball on the hardwood, Schroeder is a good decision maker who can also space the floor and connect from long distance. When small college programs look to recruit guards they need to have skills that stand out from the rest of the crowd, Schroeder being an impact player on a state championship team is a pretty good place to start.

I remain so impressed by Schroeder’s ability to push the pace in transition and knock down shots off the catch. During the Pioneers dominant third quarter, Schroeder was a key part in getting the ball up the court before the Reynoldsburg defense could get set and that led to a bunch of easy shots that blew the game wide open. A guard who will impact the game defensively, make shots and take care of the basketball, Schroeder does a lot of things that impact winning and it’s no surprise he contributed to a state championship team.

, this duo gets it done in the fall and winter for the Pioneers. I’ve been impressed with the on ball defensive activity of Schroeder and ability to move the basketball quickly. Olentangy Orange plays a fast brand of basketball and Schroeder is a perfect compliment to some of the other taller pieces within their offense. After falling short in the regional title game back-to-back seasons, the Pioneers are looking to lift that elusive state title with Schroeder as a strong role piece.

I wanted to pair this Olentangy Orange duo together for this article because they share the gridiron and hardwood together. On the defensive end of the ball, few players are as active as Schroeder and quarterbacks and wide receivers need to know where he is at all times. At the midway point of the regular season Schroeder already had five interceptions after having seven as a Sophomore. Safe to say he’s a ballhawk in the air. On the hardwood, Schroeder plays tough defense and takes care of the basketball, making the extra effort for his team.
