New Faces with Big Game

With the first week of the season coming to a close, I was able to get out to 11 Varsity and JV games and got to see different players for the first time. Smooth scorer that shoots an effortless ball and scores in a variety of different ways. Big time rebounder at both ends with the versatility to rip and run defensive boards and create plays in transition for himself as well as others. Hard downhill driver with wiggle on the perimeter. Uses his body well and can stay on balance through contact while finishing with either hand around the basket. Capable three-point shooter that is really good off the catch when his feet are set. Quick and shifty guard did a good job balancing scoring and distributing for his team. Confident shooter from the perimeter that doesn't fall in love with his jump shot. Capable of playing on and off the ball, Malakai is a poised guard with the ball in his hands. He doesn't get sped up and understands change of pace to get to his spots. Reliable three-point shooter that shoots it with deep range. Just an all around bucket getter that can score from any spot on the floor. Not the quickest or most athletic player, but always seemed to get to his spots.
