I'm a big fan of Delphos St John's this year due to their collective toughness, perimeter shooting and defensive identity. It helps a lot to have a Mr basketball candidate in [player_tooltip player_id='1827696' first='Cameron' last='Elwer'] who was dynamite all day. Elwer is so tough to keep in front as defenses are so worried about his 3-point shot that they pressure up on him and hand check him often. Elwer is tough enough to play through physicality and earned numerous free throws (they gave points today instead of having players actually shoot them) throughout the day. I also liked some of the sets that the Blue Jays ran for Elwer to get the ball off back cuts and on the block. Look for Delphos St John's to give teams fits all season with their style of play.

The biggest eye catcher I saw all day, O'Neal was incredible playing above the rim on numerous alley-oop dunks, putback slams and dunker spot finishes. Always having a good frame and impressive athleticism, O'Neal was using his physical gifts to be productive on the interior and had some of the best highlights I saw all day. A late blooming prospect who has the talent to be a breakout senior, O'Neal should be on JUCO prospect lists because in a couple years he could be a very impactful college player if he continues to work.

A throwback style wing, Ryans was going right at the host Lima Senior in what was the most competitive 'game' of the day. Each team won one quarter and Ryans played a major role in his teams quarter win with strong finishes in the paint and playing through contact. Patient with the ball in his hands, Ryans hits defenders first and bounces off of them to create space to score. Old school basketball fans will love the way Ryans plays and he should fit in well with an improving Western Michigan program.

The bounciest player in Ohio, Foster had some unbelievable dunks on Saturday with effortless bounce. Foster also was shooting the ball with more confidence and a quicker release on Saturday. Foster's shot has always looked better when he's in rhythm and he knocked a couple down throughout the day. With the amount of pressure Lima Senior can throw at teams defensively, Foster should have plenty of transition opportunities this winter to play above the rim.

Princeton is one of my favorite teams to watch in the state because of their grit and toughness. Even when they get down early, the Vikings showed no fear and immediately got back into the game. Phillips had a couple monster dunks including one all over a Reynoldsburg defender in a showdown between top 10 teams in Division I. When games get chippy and you need toughness to win, give me guys like Phillips who rebound, run the floor and give extra efforts.

Huber Heights Wayne had some tough battles with some of the top teams in attendance and even despite missing some rotation players because their football program is still in the OHSAA playoffs, the Warriors battled and showed impressive fight throughout the day. Post shot the ball at an extremely high percentage and is at his best with his feet set. When Post is making shots he's usually carrying that momentum into other facets of the game and I'm hoping to see that consistently from him as a senior leader this winter.
