Eight Emerging Names From Opening Week

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A new season means new faces in new roles with new opportunities. We at Prep Hoops Indiana pride ourselves on uncovering those new names sooner than everyone else. Not only did we attend 12 games in person during the opening week of the 2025-2026 Indiana High School Basketball season, but we also have eyes and ears in gyms all across the state on any given night. Colbert Jr. scored 18 points to go along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. However, this senior guard really stepped up for the Tigers to give them a chance to win. Davis shot 6-8 from three-point range and finished with 18 points for Crispus Attucks. He is one of several very talented pieces in their backcourt this season. They fell to Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A #9 Crispus Attucks on opening night 73-44 and then lost to Prep Hoops Indiana Class 4A #2 Fishers 72-48 on Friday. However, Harris, a talented senior guard, proved himself as a college prospect throughout the week. Hughes, a Top 125 junior in the Prep Hoops Indiana rankings, turned in a dominant performance to lead the Bulldogs. The 6'4" left-handed wing finished with 33 points and 7 rebounds while connecting on 5 of 7 three-point attempts. His well-rounded offensive skill set was on full display on Saturday night as Greensburg defeated New Castle 51-47. The 6'3" guard finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. He is a solid, under-the-radar guard to watch in the junior class in southern Indiana. However, Wetzel delivered a double-double in a big win to start the season for Heritage Hills High School. The 6'6" center finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the Patriots 75-51 win over North Harrison.
