We started the initial roll out at only 6 players ranked and about 30 players on a watch list. We now are up to 66 players.

The preps are not typically as abundant yet but 8 of the top-25 are ranked prep players already.

This class has some unusually tall players (17 6'4 or taller) and a lot of long athletes with a strong group of guards.

Remember this is a very long process and rankings will change at least twice a year and the ones that grow their games and just naturally get better and even taller, will shoot up the board. Once the players pure athleticism kicks in and the players reach glimpses of their full potential, people like myself will take notice.

The late bloomers may not grow until the summer of their senior year, where some are fully grown right now. There is no perfect timeline to reach your full potential. NBA players are still getting better in the middle of their 20's and may redefine themselves to figure out how they will stay in the league without being the main scorer or ball handler, etc.

Cherish these four years because it goes fast.

Our goal at PrepHoopsAZ is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. We will keep searching for new players in preseason camps/events/leagues/Prep Hoops Circuit, Arizona EXPO, my personal Southwest Basketball Camp and during the AIA/CAA/OTE/EYBL/NSPA/Grind Session seasons.

1. The top-2 players of [player_tooltip player_id='2194474' first='Isaiah' last='Rider IV'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2639549' first='Mamadou' last='Issa Sow'] are looking like they may be initially nationally ranked with some others eventually getting into those national rankings eventually once they are seen at the bigger circuits.

2. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on independent or up and coming circuits (Pangos, NxtPro, EYCL, UAA Rise, Prep Hoops, WCE, New Balance, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.

3. Of the 66 players we have 26 PG's, 9 SG's, 9 CG's, 11 SF's, 8 PF's and 3 C's.
