On Saturday October 25th I attended the 27th annual Arizona Preps Showcase at Inspire Courts. It is typically the last event before tryouts in November. There was around 55 different high schools in attendance and I viewed around 20 of them.

Here were some of the Top Performers

[player_tooltip player_id='2146269' first='Daijon' last='Grayson'] Mesa (Pictured)

A quick on quick scoring point guard is a two-way player. He is great defensively on the ball with plus length, speed and twitchy reflexes. He has a quick burst to get into the lane and sees the court well. He will also hit perimeter jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2337274' first='Brig' last='Bowden'] Mesa

The big man for the Jackrabbits is a true inside and out threat. He will battle inside and control the glass and score with offensive rebound put backs and then hit the three with good ball rotation and a nice touch. His rebounding can also control many games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2964152' first='Daniel' last='Simon'] Hillcrest Prep

A very tall and super fluid power forward who can handle it better then most, defend multiple positions and score. He will score with threes, euro steps and he is a way above the rim dunker. He will grab offensive rebounds and score plus block shots effortlessly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2964153' first='Joao' last='Pedro Panzo'] Hillcrest Prep

A strong framed power forward is tough and cerebral. He is a great passer for his size and position. He has huge hands to grab the ball off the glass and will make a play. He can dominate inside with his build and then hit the three. He is definitely a unique player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1893708' first='Prince' last='Cash'] Carl Hayden

A bigger wing forward is a three level scorer with threes off the catch, tough drives to the basket with contact and mid-range pull-ups, which is quickly becoming his sweet spot. He rebounds well in his area and should have a big senior year. He is also becoming a very good passer as a point forward type. Stock way up!

[player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] Higley

A talented wing forward who will fill it up from all levels. He hits deep jumpers and will dribble drive to the basket and score it with difficult acrobatic layups with crazy hang time. He has a nice layup package with reverses and he will go downhill baseline and dunk it. He collects steals and rebounds at a good clip.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482211' first='Noah' last='Gloor'] Higley

A combo lead guard with parking lot deep three point range and a quick trigger. The Embry-Riddle commit can score with rip thrus coast to coast and high level pull-ups from mid-range. He has sneaky next level court vision and he will have a big year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482217' first='Khalil' last='Lias'] Eduprize

A two-way scoring combo guard likes to get to the rim with his shifty ball handling and will often go coast to coast or get to the free throw line. He will drive and kick it and make a play. Defensively he will block shots, slow his opponents down and he is a very good rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432565' first='Amaurie' last='Beausejour'] Desert Mountain

A scoring point guard is a rare ambidextrous player. He will dribble drive to the basket and pull-up from mid-range plus hit the three. He is a really good passer with some ropes to facilitate and he has quick feet to play the passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1445948' first='Brandon' last='Stapleton'] Chandler

A bigger combo guard will score it from all three levels. He will dribble drive with either hand and hit the catch three. He got hot and almost pulled off the upset vs Higley. He rebounds well in and out of his area and he can find teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950104' first='Jonathan' last='Mercado'] Chandler

A scoring point guard showed off his court vision and will drive and kick it and thread the needle to teammates. He will score it easily with driving layups, threes off the catch or pull and the lefty will get downhill with a burst of speed and stronger frame.

[player_tooltip player_id='2329548' first='Emmanuel' last='Angok'] Apollo

A long and lean power forward who is a three and D type. He alters or blocks many shots per game and rebounds well in his area. He will rattle in threes off the catch and hit the mid-range jumper. His ability to stretch the floor and defend makes him intriguing.
