<p>With the season starting in less than a week, the month of December brings a lot of entertaining and intriguing matchups that may not normally show up on the schedule. Single-Day Showcases have become popular events that bring together top teams or top player matchups with teams from different parts of the state. On December 6th, Forest Park High School is hosting a three-game showcase event featuring four teams that were able to win sectional championships a year ago in Forest Park, Linton-Stockton, Northview, and Providence. Evansville North and Heritage Hills round out the field. Here is a preview featuring the top players and matchup breakdowns at the showcase:</p>

<p><strong>Game 1: Northview Knights vs Providence Pioneers</strong></p>

<p>In Game 1 of the Forest Park Showcase the Knights of Northview, coming off a 24-3 season and return their top three scorers that combined for 38 points per game. [player_tooltip player_id='1561022' first='Brayden' last='Goff'], a 6'0” Senior Guard committed to Marian University is back after averaging 16.1 points per game. </p>

<p>Providence comes into the matchup coming off 18-5 season winning their 2A Sectional before falling in the regional round. Back for them is 6'6” Senior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='1561079' first='Elijah' last='Fuller-Tucker'], a multi-year varsity contributor that is a high level rebounder and post presence with a high motor. The Pioneers are always well coached and one of the best defensive teams in the state year in and year out.</p>

<p><strong>Game 2: Linton-Stockton Miners vs Heritage Hills Patriots</strong></p>

<p>In Game 2 of the Forest Park Showcase features two programs loaded with star power in Southwest Indiana. Linton-Stockton, a storied program with a rich winning tradition coming off an impressive 25-8 season advancing to the semi-state round. Returning is four-year varsity starter in 6'5” Senior Wing/Forward [player_tooltip player_id='1560992' first='Paul' last='Oliver']. Also returning is high scoring sharp shooting 6'3” Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560986' first='Conner' last='Daily'], who is looking to build off a strong spring and summer on the AAU circuit into a big senior season. </p>

<p>Heritage Hills is entering a new era for the program under long time JV coach and now first year Varsity Coach Josh Wetzel. The Patriots have a good blend of size, speed, and athleticism returning along with valuable experience. The backcourt of four-year varsity contributors of 6'6” Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1560951' first='Jake' last='Prior'] and 6'3” Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1560979' first='Peyton' last='Gray']. Heritage Hills also boasts a junior class led by 6'6” Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2140443' first='Tait' last='Wetzel'], that will look to make their mark on the program. Wetzel is a returning starter that averaged 10 points and 6.7 rebounds as a sophomore. Not many opponents that these two teams could play early on in the year that will challenge them to see where they are at.</p>

<p><strong>Game 3: Evansville North Huskies vs Forest Park Rangers</strong></p>

<p>In the night cap of the Forest Park Showcase, Evansville North of the SIAC travels to play the host Forest Park. A difference in play styles in this matchup. The Huskies want to get up and down the floor playing with tempo, where the Rangers are comfortable playing any style. </p>

<p>Evansville North is coming off a season where they finished 11–13. Returning is a talented senior class led by 6'5” Wing [player_tooltip player_id='1561076' first='Bryson' last='Chapman']. Chapman is a long, versatile inside-out wing who averaged 17 points and eight rebounds as a junior. Also returning is the senior backcourt duo of 6'0” [player_tooltip player_id='1561101' first='Seab' last='Johnson'] and 6'3” [player_tooltip player_id='1561073' first='Sena' last='Gore']. Johnson is a quick twitched guard that thrives on getting in the lane and pushing the tempo while Gore is comfortable on and off the ball while being a consistent three-point shooter off the catch.</p>

<p>Forest Park returns arguably the best college prospect of the showcase in 6'9” Junior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2140403' first='Kamdon' last='Partenheimer'], an inside-out post that possesses a unique size and skill for the area. Partenheimer is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 11.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on a team that made it to the semi-state round. Joining him is the senior backcourt of 6'0” Guard Jared Berger, an elite returning three-point shooter, and 6'1” Guard Grant Fleck, a lead guard that sets the pace and gets everyone involved. The wildcard for the Rangers is the health of 6'3” multi-year varsity starter Jaxon Lueken, a 6'3” Indiana Baseball Commit that shot 43% from three last season. He went down with a broken collarbone early in the football season, and have not heard a time for his return. </p>
