The Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp is annually one of the best events to check out young talent each fall. This year was no different. Here I examine prospects that made noise in Pangos Frosh/Soph Camp: Illinois 2028 Wings!

[player_tooltip player_id='2125627' first='Ethan' last='Vahl'] (Oswego – 2028)

Vahl is a 6'3” guard that is one of the top prospects in the 2028 class. Showcased his well rounded game. Reverse layups and consistently got to the line in both the half court and transition. Slick passing including a sweet behind the back dribble into a dime. Creative feel for the game. Can pass off live dribbles with either hand. Solid rebounder. Hit a mid-range jumper and competed defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532014' first='Logan' last='Brown'] (St. Laurence – 2028)

Brown was coming into the event with momentum after picking up an offer from UIC. We liked what we saw from him over the summer as an intriguing wing with range on the perimeter. Explosive baseline takes for reverse layups, went coast to coast for and-1s, and crashed the offensive glass for put backs. Shoots a good ball from three, but can be streaky at times. Did drain one off the catch in the game we saw. Length and anticipation play well on the defensive end at 6'5”.

[player_tooltip player_id='2474926' first='Kayden' last='Turner'] (Peoria – 2028)

Really liked what we saw out of this 6'3” shooting guard from Peoria. Broad shoulders and a strong frame with functional athleticism. Did a nice job getting on the glass from his guard spot. Also liked how he dished the rock as a connective passer along with pushing in the open floor. Clean jumper from three off the catch and can create in the mid-range as well elevating over the defenders. Primed for a big sophomore season!

[player_tooltip player_id='2532031' first='Roosevelt' last='Thomas'] (De La Salle – 2028)

Thomas is a power two guard that was more than comfortable playing in his home gym. Plays with a high-motor and was able to finish through contact and in transition on a consistent basis. Uses his strength to get to the rim in both the half court and transition. Plays with good pace and also had a crisp pass to his big man for a score.

[player_tooltip player_id='2538631' first='Grant' last='Smith'] (Lyons – 2028)

Smith is among the better forwards in the 2028 class. The 6'6” sophomore is primed for a big season. Strong frame and explosive athlete. Got on the offensive glass for a put back. Pushed off the defensive boards for big dunks. Cuts off the ball finishing in slams. Can handle it well for his size slashing for scores at the rim.

DeAndre Burns Jr (Danville – 2028)

Burns exploded on our radar with a strong performance. This 6'5” wing has super long arms and a very projectable frame. Well rounded player that proved to be a connective passer. Rebounds and can push ahead with the handle or pass. Clean shooting form including hitting a nice one from three. Athleticism shined in transition for a dunk along with converting on a pick/roll finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='3010128' first='Carter' last='Slaise'] (Providence St. Mel – 2028)

Very intriguing 2028 prospect that burst on the scene in this event. The 6'5” long and rangy wing has a frame to add strength. Pogo stick athlete who lived above the rim throughout the camp. Smooth ball handler that could get in the lane for soft touch finishes. Clean shot that didn't go down in the game we saw, but he shoots a good ball. Rebounds well crashing the glass and getting after it with his springy legs. Defensively he has a chance to be an impact player blocking multiple shots and using his range laterally.

[player_tooltip player_id='2409788' first='Chase' last='Ellis'] (New Trier – 2028)

Ellis popped in his first game as the 6'3” sharp shooter poured in an array of threes on spot up shots. Sweet lefty stroke especially from the corners off the catch. Overall has good skill and size flashing the ability to finish through contact. Shooting is where he will make his money though!

[player_tooltip player_id='2528189' first='Joseph' last='Christian'] (Yorkville – 2028)

Christian is a 6'4” wing that has strength. Solid overall skill set with his passing and pushing ahead in transition. Used his strength on drives getting fouled.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532002' first='Jeremiah' last='Toney'] (St. Laurence – 2028)

Toney is a strong and athletic left handed wing. Did a nice job of getting to the line, pushing off his defense for scores, and flashed a floater.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532005' first='Kai' last='Harvey'] (Homewood Flossmoor – 2028)

Harvey has been on our radar for a while. The 6'1” shooting guard plays taller than his listed height with his length. Solid defender who can turn defense into offense. Quick to the offensive glass. Cuts off the ball for scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='2828502' first='Tyrus' last='Grier'] (Hyde Park – 2028)

Grier is a 6'4” lefty wing that banked in a pull up jumper. Finished dump off pass. Showed bounce to his game and has some upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532000' first='Jakobe' last='Bell'] (Simeon – 2028)

Bell is a 6'3” wing who has a long and wiry frame. The shooting guard scored off a cut and flashed defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2947558' first='Elisha' last='Dahe'] III (Providence St. Mel – 2028)

This left handed 6'3” small forward is a versatile athlete that does a nice job finishing around the hoop. Converted dump offs, lobs, and got on the offensive glass. The jump shot needs a lot of work.

[player_tooltip player_id='2515916' first='Jack' last='Fabian'] (Benet – 2028)

Fabian is a 6'2” athletic shooting guard that had a solid outing in the game we saw. Corner three, soft touch game, and creativity as a finisher at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433661' first='Aamir' last='Smith'] (Whitney Young – 2028)

The 6'3” shooting guard for the Dolphins has good length and a nice frame. Burst getting downhill and to the rim. Mixed in a mid-range jumper and put back.

Kierre Brooks (Leo – 2028)

Brooks is a 6'2” shooting guard with a lanky frame. Got loose quite a few times in transition, was fouled on a baseline take, and drained a top of the key three. Quick to the offensive glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532022' first='Nate' last='Henry'] (Warren – 2028)

Henry is a crafty 6'1” shooting guard that did his damage around the basket on a turnaround hook shot and scoop.
