Season Preview: Somerset Losee

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2025-2026 season is just around the corner now. Many teams from Las Vegas competed in the The Border League just a couple of weeks ago, and Somerset Losee faired well. They have added quite a few new players. Including [player_tooltip player_id='2477281' first='DJ' last='Hunter'] Jr., [player_tooltip player_id='2412305' first='Nick' last='Odum'], Jake Bunyan.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hunter Jr. is well known at this point and will be running the show for them at the PG position. After watching him hit the game winning shots at The Border League, it was evident that he's ready to have a big year. Odum is another notable addition who brings size, length, and shooting to the table. 2029 Jake Bunyan is a 6'7 forward that will help when it comes to protecting the rim and grabbing rebounds. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also like the guys that are returning for them. Senior, Daniel Bristol, is a guard who can knock down jumpers and 3's. [player_tooltip player_id='2115822' first='Quincy' last='Shows'] is athletic and covers ground quickly. And [player_tooltip player_id='1741615' first='Kieran' last='Daniel'] is a tough man to contain due to his strength.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lions will be adding [player_tooltip player_id='1668928' first='Reno' last='Gilbert'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2117590' first='Jaylin' last='Trotter'] as well. Gilbert has a way of getting to his spots and into the paint. While Trotter is capable of scoring by gaining inside position.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Considering the list of talented players above, I believe many teams will have a difficult time getting easy buckets. There are skilled competitors at every position and they'll likely leverage their athleticism to get out in transition. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Look for them to make the playoffs. He has an ability to create his own shot, or he can drive and dish. Hunter Jr. also manages to get to the stripe at a high rate and he hits triples. On defense, he'll look to collect steals and he can push the pace from there. He will be a leader for them and he is always hustling. Bristol is a shooter too and can get out in transition. He is likely one of the tallest underclassmen in town and he'll be asked to make an impact by playing in the paint. On offense, he should be able to contribute a bit of interior scoring and he can also score second chance points. He is agile with his movements and he also has the vertical to shoot over defenders.
