This year, it's [player_tooltip player_id='1653212' first='Kareem' last='Artharee'] time. After playing a supporting role the past few years, the 6-foot-5 swingman is set to step into the role of main man for Gresham and if you ask the senior he's ready. As he has been sorting out his college recruitment, he's also focused on the 2025-26 season - one in which he feels the Gophers will accomplish some very big things.

"I'm excited - I'm supposed to lead this team," Artharee said. "We're ready to go to work in the Les Schwab and I'm excited for that, and hopefully we can make the Chiles Center too."

Artharee comes into the season fully healthy, after hurting his hand during the off-season while playing summer ball. He was able to get in some good run with the [program_tooltip program_id='2850997' first='Cascade' last='Kings'] on the AAU circuit so not all was lost. "We got a couple wins this year, but I ended up getting injured so I was recovering, getting back in shape and stuff like that," Artharee said. "But I felt my midrange was cool and I got to the basket a lot. I was trying to become a better defender, things like that."

Despite his somewhat limited action, college coaches did get a glimpse of Artharee's athletic potential and he's been able to pick up an offer from OIT and a roster spot offer from George Fox. He's started to take some campus visits. "On October 9th, I'm going out to Oregon Tech for a visit, so I'm excited for that," Artharee said. "Hopefully it's a cool campus with good teammates - I'm ready to go down there. And George Fox, I went down there and it was pretty nice, I liked it. Portland State invited me to the practice and I checked it out. It was pretty intense - I liked how it was."

With OIT his lone scholarship offer at this point, if things check out would he commit? "Possibly, but I'll probably wait towards the end of the season to see my options," Artharee said. "Pretty much I'm looking for just a good education, good campus life, and a good connection with the team, things like that."

Artharee currently ranks as the #6 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2026 rankings.
