Missouri Expo Five New Player Revelations

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops Missouri Expo was held on Sunday at Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most exciting aspects of covering this event seeing new players for the first time. It happens every year. Here is a group of five players who were new revelations to me on Sunday. The first impressive thing I saw him do was in the 3 on 3 session when he grabbed a rebound, dribbled out to the 3-point line and calmly sank the long jumper. He was a matchup problem with his ability to attack off the dribble and hit 3-pointers. He was lifting defenders off the floor with his shot fake and driving to the basket and dunking. He also has a nice turnaround jumper in the lane. I liked his energy and hustle. I thought that might be the extent of his game, which was good, but he was just getting started. As the action went on, he started to gain confidence and show his offensive chops. He stepped out and hit a 3-pointer. On the next possession, he hit another 3-pointer from the exact same spot. He is a very solid 220 pounds and he didn't mind using it, whether he was on the power drive or posting up in the lane. He has lost a lot of weight over the past year, which has really helped his mobility and increased work rate. He had some nice rim runs which led to transition baskets. His motor was running and it never stopped. He was aggressive on the drive and was consistently getting to the rim. He was seeking contact and finishing well. He was also active on the offensive boards. Regardless of size, he got his share of offensive rebounds and putbacks. He was playing smooth and under control and getting buckets from all three levels. He was forcing his way into the paint and either scoring or getting himself to the free throw line. He was coming off of high ball screens and knocking down jump shots.
