LONG BEACH — The annual Ron Massey Memorial Fall Hoops Classic is one of the must-attend events of the fall and this year's kick-off event brought together some of SoCal's top high school programs and players Saturday at McBride high school. Below we take a closer look at some of the top wing, forward and center performers from the games we saw on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131807' first='Abdoul' last='Bare'] | 2026 | St. Joseph

Bare was very effective as a ball screener and roller in both of St. Joseph's games Saturday and his physicality and mobility in those situations resulted in him getting an easy bucket at the rim or one of his guards getting an open shot or a clean driving lane to take advantage of. Bare is a high motor and mobile center who is active on the boards and that, combined with his 6-foot-8 frame, should make him a high Division II or low Division I target.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956520' first='Brayden' last='Kyman'] | 2026 | Santa Margarita

Kyman's combination of size, skill and basketball IQ made him one of the more versatile offensive weapons on the day. The 6-foot-8 forward is a mismatch nightmare because of his ability to stretch the floor to the three point line and pull bigs away from the basket but also his interior scoring ability when a guard switches on to him. Kyman can also be the trigger to the Eagles' offense with his ability to handle and make decisions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425665' first='Drew' last='Anderson'] | 2026 | Santa Margarita

Anderson's physicality and interior finishing skill was far too much for St. Francis to handle as the mobile 6-foot-9 forward was slashing to the paint and finishing at the rim through contact. The senior was also generating second chance opportunities with his effort on the offensive glass. Similar to his teammate mentioned above, Anderson presents a major mismatch for most high school teams because of his dribble, pass and shoot ability at his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194355' first='Gene' last='Roebuck'] | 2027 | La Mirada

Roebuck is one of the most versatile wing scorers in the class and that statement rang true again Saturday. The 6-foot-5 junior just knows how to demoralize a defender with his tough shot creating and shot making ability off the bounce and his polished scoring package is true on all three levels of the floor. Roebuck's combination of skill, savvy and physicality allows him to generate offense from any area of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425656' first='Jaidyn' last='Smith'] | 2026 | Corona Centennial

Smith has shown a lot of improvements over the last few months and should be a priority target for Division II programs. The 6-foot-8 lefty is most impactful as a rim protector as his combination of length and his quick first jump allows him to contest and change shots around the basket and his quick-twitch reaction time makes him a good area rebounder. Offensively, Smith is an effective ball screener, roller and finisher who crashes the offensive boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916690' first='Damarion' last='Landry'] | 2027 | Oak Hills

Landry is slowly becoming a hot name on in SoCal's 2027 class as his combination of size, length and natural athletic tools and basketball skill stand out. The 6-foot-5 wing is a fluid ball handler on the perimeter who can knock down side-step three's off the bounce or use his burst and long first step to blow-by defenders and finish above the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956526' first='SJ' last='Madison'] | 2026 | Redondo Union

Madison's motor is always on 100 percent which is needed in Redondo Union's high octane offensive and defensive system. The 6-foot-4 wing has established himself as one of the best transition finishers in the region and he had a couple of eye-popping finishes at Ron Massey on Saturday that showed a little extra pop in his vertical explosiveness. Madison is a relentless on-ball defender whose combination of strength, lateral athleticism and quick hands allow him pressure and turn ball handlers over, then get out on the break where his downhill aggressiveness and athleticism takes over.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884078' first='Tyler' last='Lopez'] | 2026 | Los Alamitos

Lopez has a chance to be Orange County's leading scorer this season due to a combination of Los Alamitos playing one of the faster paces you'll see in SoCal along with his improved three-point shooting and strong, physical attacking and finishing style. Lopez was knocking down catch-and-shoot three's with ease in a close loss to Chaminade and, by the look of things, he will have the ultimate green light during his senior year.
