Rattyfam Classic Additional Standouts

Now in its fourth straight year, the Rattyfam Classic once again showcased some of New Jersey's top high school programs and standout individual talent in a day packed with high-level matchups. Held at Roselle Catholic in Roselle, NJ, the event offered an early look at preseason play, as recent summer transfers continued to settle into new systems and returning players began to embrace expanded roles ahead of the upcoming winter season. From clutch moments to highlight-reel plays, here's a look at some of the standout performers from this past Saturday's action.    [player_tooltip player_id='1595681' first='Jaren' last='Barnett'] shined as an overall playmaker for Linden's offense— grabbing rebounds and pushing the break in transition and finishing on the other end, getting in the paint and finding open shooters and cutters, and even throwing lobs in transition. Barnett also excelled at making shots from the perimeter early on Saturday afternoon. Barnett did a good job of controlling Linden's offense and creating plays not only for his teammates but himself as well.     Getting off to a hot start early from three, [player_tooltip player_id='2202018' first='Rocco' last='Loomis'] exhibited his ability to be a dangerous catch and shoot threat that possess a quick and compact release, making defenses pay for any sliver of space he gets. Loomis also shined on the defensive end with his intensity and his motor as a pesky defender that pressured opposing ball handlers, dove on the floor for loose balls, and forced turnovers.     Will Brunson showcased his versatility as both a creative multi level scorer and an instinctive playmaker. Brunson's scoring prowess was on full display— knocking down shots from three point range as well as showcasing his creativity off the bounce in the ways he can break his defender down and get to the rim. Brunson even flashed some of his low post game, backing down smaller defenders and using his length to finish at the rim. Brunson also demonstrated good feel for the game in the ways he was able to create open looks for his teammates when he attracted multiple defenders. Brunson was also extremely on the offensive glass, crashing the boards and getting a handful of putbacks.     Julian Ceberio displayed his lethal catch and shooting ability in the ways he made defenses pay for late closeouts. Ceberio exhibited good intangibles as a shooter that demonstrate what makes him dangerous beyond just merely shooting it from three— consistently being shot ready, sprinting to the corners in transition, and relocating and moving well without the ball in half court sets.     [player_tooltip player_id='2504745' first='Chase' last='Bray'] excelled as a shot maker for Roselle Catholic's backcourt— knocking down open shots off the catch from three point range as well as off the dribble in the mid range area. Bray also flashed his ability to make good decisions off the bounce when he was able to get in the paint and find open shooters out on the perimeter.     A nice utility piece for Linden, Abraham Desrosiers demonstrated his ability to not only finish around the basket in half court offense but also running the floor in transition. Desrosiers also impressed on the defensive end of the floor as a switchable defender that guarded multiple positions and showed good intangibles as a defender.     A crafty scoring guard who has the ability to be creative off the bounce, Mouhamed Cisse showed flashes of his ability to score on the ball— attacking his defender off the bounce with different dribble combo moves and finish with craftiness around the basket. Cisse also flashed his ability to be a threat from three point distance.     [player_tooltip player_id='1963393' first='Tyrease' last='Hunter'] thrived as a shot maker, particularly from three point range off the catch as well as in the in between area off the bounce mixing it up with different mid range pull ups and two foot floaters. Hunter showcased a diverse shooting arsenal, knocking down shots as a spot up shooter, on the move, and from different angles in the mid range area.     [player_tooltip player_id='1729825' first='Trey' last='Lewis'] thrived as a multi level scorer that attacked off the bounce with creativity using different dribble combo moves while also using his strong frame to finish in traffic around the basket. Lewis also showed flashes of being a disruptive defender, pressuring the ball the length of the floor and playing with active hands to disrupt opposing ball handlers.     [player_tooltip player_id='2201949' first='Ayyub' last='Wilson'] was aggressive in shooting the three ball to open Saturday's contest— knocking down a pair of shots from three point distance. Wilson looks to be a more confident shooter heading into his junior year, flashing an ability to knock down shots off the catch and off the dribble. Wilson used his quickness and creativity off the dribble to get in the paint to finish with craftiness in traffic as well as create advantageous scoring chances for his teammates.     [player_tooltip player_id='2342605' first='Trevor' last='Whitaker'] caught fire early from three point range and never looked back— hitting an array of smooth jumpers from three point range in the flow of Union Catholic's offense. An efficient day from beyond the arc saw Whitaker showcase his fluid mechanics and consistent accuracy as a shooter from three point distance.
