MD/VA players that perform well at the John Lucas Be Elite Camp

I consistently appreciate travelling across the country to observe DMV athletes compete on a national level. This report provides an overview of the five players who participated in the John Lucas Be Elite camp held in Houston, TX.    It was a pleasure seeing Nickolas play for the 1st time. In our DMV market we don't have a lot of Big's walking around. So, it was encouraging seeing a big man that played well at the high-level two-day camp. Nickolas showed a soft touch, footwork, and inside-out ability for his size. Comfortable operating from various areas on the floor and exploiting matchup problems whenever available. Utilizes his length to anchor the paint defensively and control the glass as a rebounder. Has the potential to be a double-double with the ability to fill it up as a scorer. Left the camp as one of the Top Big's at the camp. Will only become more dominant as he adds strength but is already one of the most talented players in the state of Maryland regardless of class. Look for Nicholas to be a sought-after Big's next spring and summer.     Another under-radar guards that is a college worthy prospect. The left-handed McGlone impresses with his approach toward the game by leading the way being a strong scoring factor but also making his presence felt on the defensive end with his instincts, on ball quickness and quick hands. Look for Aaron to bethe one of the better guards in Maryland in the 2027 class, showing poise, growth, scoring prowess, and control of an offense, as well as being a playmaker, knock down shooter and athletic finisher.     A finesse forward that has a combination of size, strength, and skill. Brooks is a nice size young man whose, entirety of his game is playing out on the perimeter and making plays with the dribble. He's a quality scorer from all levels and can create for himself and others off the bounce. Although he's shown a lot of offensive appeal, Brooks is also a useful rebounder when engaged with clear upside as a defender. A trending prospect that has the potential to be a college level prospect if he continues to work on his body. And play with energy and intensity!     Smooth young guard was that play with pace and poise. I am excited about his potential! Showed a quick release both off the catch and his gather for the dribble pull-up. Nice handle, Sturdy frame and can change directions quickly as he slashes through traffic enroute to the rim where he is crafty through contact and has a fantastic touch. Sound mechanics and quick release and efficient out of a variety of actions. Strong! He can overwhelm many defenders trying to defend him off the bounce. Broad shoulders, strong upper body and uses it effectively when attacking angles and finishing in traffic.     The younger Brooks is a different player than his older brother Brandon. Braylon has the potential to be a valuable piece on varsity as a freshman. He's an aggressive prospect whose willingness to embrace his role and identity allows him to shine in a variety of different ways. Brooks possesses a strong frame with toughness, perimeter skill, and the ability to be a switchable defender at the camp despite his size. Offensively he finishes around the basket, knocks down jumpers at a respectable rate, and rebounds well for his size. Brooks adaptable game, unselfish mentality, and well-rounded skillset make him a real asset.
