Needed to make some changes in the Power Rankings as we continue to hear about new transfers and continue to learn more about the teams. Each summer we first look at what players are doing in AAU season, I then start researching teams for the Breakdown book, and then I research them again for fall previews, plus we have exposure events. As all of this happens we learn more and more and make the required changes. Here is our latest update with some reasoning!

Point One. Wayzata remains number one. Even with [player_tooltip player_id='1560807' first='Isaac' last='Olmstead'] hurt they have excellent junior ball handlers, depth, two stars and an improved player in [player_tooltip player_id='2860073' first='Brady' last='Lam']. With Hopkins needing and adding wings in [player_tooltip player_id='1874906' first='Kyree' last='Nelson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560839' first='Xavier' last='Frelix'] in the transfer portal, plus [player_tooltip player_id='2560534' first='Tre' last='Moore'] looking outstanding and some upcoming size depth, we scouted them up a spot or two back to where they were. CDH and Maple Grove bolstered their backcourt and frontcourt in the transfer market so they stay high (CDH with [player_tooltip player_id='2126170' first='Isaac' last='Feller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2435240' first='Zeke' last='Gilbert'], MG with [player_tooltip player_id='1560739' first='Max' last='Iversen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen']). Tartan added three nice transfer pieces as well. State champs Alex and Wayzata rotations will look familiar (assuming you know their end f bench and JV guys from a year ago) but the other top six teams all got big transfers.

(1) Wayzata

(2) Hopkins

(3) Maple Grove

(4) Cretin-Derham Hall

(5) Alexandria

(6) Tartan

(7) Prior Lake

(8) East Ridge

(9) Apple Valley

(10) Rochester Mayo

(11) Eagan

(12) Minnetonka

(13) Edina

(14) Moorhead

(15) Osseo

Point Two. We liked Osseo with [player_tooltip player_id='2126472' first='Owen' last='Counce'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2575651' first='Quincy' last='Johnson'] back under a veteran staff but they lost the rest of their top ten to graduation. However, the mass exodus from Park Center has led to what sounds like [player_tooltip player_id='1560826' first='Joel' last='Saah'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2524650' first='Kwatamah' last='Silikpoh'] moving pretty much down the street and making for quite the group of guards. Very few teams will have a group that is as talented as this group when it comes to having four guards.

(16) Spring Lake Park

(17) Champlin Park

(18) Bemidji

(19) Lakeville South

(20) Eden Prairie

(21) Chaska

(22) Lakeville North

(23) Shakopee

(24) Buffalo

(25) Waconia

(26) Hastings

(27) Farmington

(28) Elk River

(29) Monticello

(30) Chanhassen

(31) St. Paul Central

(32) Minneapolis Washburn

(33) Anoka

(34) Rosemount

(35) Andover

Point Three. These next four teams, not sure where to go here. Stillwater lost their top returning guy but has three solid players back from a 15 win team, Woodbury has a couple double figure scorers returning, Two Rivers has their top scorers back plus a couple really good young guys, and Park has three of their starters back. Not amazing, not bad, just solid and some reserve spots fitting nicely from being good teams.

(36) Stillwater

(37) Woodbury

(38) Two Rivers

(39) Park of Cottage Grove

(40) Owatonna

(41) Eastview

(42) Rochester Century

(43) Blaine

(44) Brainerd

(45) Mounds View

(46) St. Louis Park

(47) Roseville

(48) Forest Lake

(49) White Bear Lake

(50) Duluth East

Point Four. Pretty low for PC? Yeah. They lost their coach, I'm not sure who will be their coach, their top four returning players all transferred plus they had good players that graduated. They lost their top eight players that were on their roster at the end of last season so far.

(51) Park Center

(52) Centennial

(53) Irondale

(54) Cambridge-Isanti

(55) Rochester JM

(56) Rogers

(57) Robbinsdale Armstrong

(58) Burnsville

(59) St. Michael-Albertville

(60) Bloomington Jefferson

(61) New Prague

(62) Coon Rapids

Point Five. I feel bad for Jefferson because I do think they do a lot of things over there coaching wise that are solid. But not only did they lose a top player mid-season last year and then have a lot of guys graduate, they lost their best two returning players to transfer this summer.
