Bishop Manogue - The Bishop Manogue Miners went 16-11 last season and finished 3rd in the 4A Northern Region. They fell to Damonte Ranch in the playoffs, but overall it was a solid season for them. This season they return [player_tooltip player_id='2449393' first='Eli' last='Benna'], Liam Sorenson, Chase Alvaraz, [player_tooltip player_id='2449483' first='Aaron' last='Westphal'], Veo Dizen, and [player_tooltip player_id='2286665' first='Jamahl' last='Jackson']. With much of their core back they were already poised to be one of the stronger teams. But by adding [player_tooltip player_id='1741167' first='Kade' last='Snyder'], there's no doubt that they should be in contention for the 4A State Title. Pairing him with Jackson will likely make them a tough team to get a bucket on in the paint and they'll be a fun team to follow.

2. Damonte Ranch - The Damonte Ranch Mustangs also went 16-11 last season and finished 2nd in the 4A Northern Region. Eventually the got knocked out of the playoffs by Spanish Springs, who went on to play in the State Title game. Despite losing Drew Dodson and Jeriah Macias to graduation, the Mustangs should have another winning season on the way. Guards [player_tooltip player_id='1587902' first='Kin' last='Vong'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2806798' first='Zak' last='Stanko'] figure to lead the way in the scoring department. And they also have Amari Nash, who I believe may be a breakout player for them(assuming he plays). Nash notably just committed to Nevada University for football back in June.

3. Reno - The Reno Huskies finished with an 18-9 record last season and finished 4th in the 4A Northern Region. They too got knocked out by Spanish Springs in the playoffs. In order for the Huskies to put together a successful season this year, they'll need to get reliable and consistent production from their seniors. Which includes: [player_tooltip player_id='2807180' first='Eric' last='Platz'], Ezra Sambrano, and Crew Higgins. Reno also added transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1463215' first='James' last='Williams'], who stands at 6'5 and should give them both size and scoring. With him in the mix, the Huskies could be the dark horse in the conference.

4. Spanish Springs - The Spanish Springs Cougars had an incredible regular season last year. They went 24-5 overall, and went undefeated (16-0) in conference play. The Cougars then faced off against Sierra Vista in the 4A State Championship and gave them a run for their money. But their offense had trouble keeping up in the second half and they lost 79-65. This year will likely go much different due to graduates and transfers. Right now, it appears as though [player_tooltip player_id='2806789' first='Brady' last='Hummel'], [player_tooltip player_id='2807170' first='Jayden' last='Acosta'], and Tyson McNeil will be their top guys. But they also may have some underclassmen that will be asked to step up and contribute. Like Ja'Shon Ervin Franklin.

The 4A Northern Region is set to be even more competitive than anticipated.
