is a floor general who can both score an facilitate. His acceleration skills, IQ and instincts help him find paydirt. And he will splash in shots around or the rim, or kick it to his shooters on the wing/corners. Benna is also a tough defender, who looks to bother opponents with his frame and active hands.

was slashing his way to the basket in the first half, notching 8 points for Bishop Manogue. Then in the second half he had another 5 points, finishing with 13. He has more quickness than defender anticipate, and also uses patience and touch to convert contested layups.

gives the Bishop Manogue Miners an edge with the way that he hustles on defense. He is fantastic at applying ball pressure and makes opponents very uncomfortable with his active hands. While on offense, Benna can get downhill and he dishes out dimes regularly (averaged 4.5 APG last year). Considering the attention he draws and how much size the Miners have, expect him to average even more assists this year.

caught my attention with his play on defense.
He is constantly hounding his opponent and makes them feel uncomfortable by applying ball pressure.
He also has the size and athleticism to bump drivers off their path and he stays active with his hands as they look to put it up or dish it off.
In addition to his play on defense, Benna can get in the paint on offense and he can rack up assists by making good reads.

has gone up to #33. He makes an impact on both offense and defense. On offense, he’s a bit shifty and facilitates for others utilizing his court vision. On defense, he gives great effort. Which results in him making deflections and he is usually good for at least one steal every game.

impressed me back in January with his passing and defensive abilities. He has great court vision that allows him to make passes that perfectly set up his teammates for easy buckets. Benna also gives it his all on the defensive end, which sometimes leads to him coming up with a steal. Benna can can be an efficient scorer as well and his top scoring output of the season came against Jesuit. He dropped 18 points that game and shot 8 of 10 from the field.

Benna came up with a crucial late steal for Bishop Manogue to that helped them get the win. After the steal he pushed the ball down the court he found Kaden Row for 2 and it gave the Miners a 37-36 lead with a minute to go. I also saw him throw some other dimes and he did some rebounding. It was a decent game from the sophomore and I like how he impacted the game with his defensive play.

Fans are going to love Benna’s game. He’s one of those players that doesn’t look physically imposing, then proceeds to carve up defenders. The fresh face prospect played with terrific pace when I saw him this summer during Grassroots action.

Benna can get it done in a variety of ways. He’s a lefty, pass first PG that sees the floor well, and understands angles. I was impressed with the fresh faces shot selection, as he’s shown the ability to determine between making the right pass, and taking the right shot, all in a split second.
