Sophomore ID Camp: Floor Generals and Playmakers

At the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp, a handful of guards proved they could take full command of the game. From setting up teammates with precise passing to dictating tempo and creating their own offense when needed, these five floor generals showed the poise and vision that every team needs.    Giles stands out as an elite ball handler who can break down defenders and consistently get to the rim. He's a crafty finisher in traffic and shows excellent touch around the basket. Beyond attacking the paint, he can knock down shots from deep with smooth mechanics, making him a tough cover both off the bounce and as a shooter. His combination of size, skill, and confidence with the ball makes him a dynamic lead guard to track.     Fernandez is a lightning-quick guard who thrives on getting into the paint and creating for others. He's a true lead guard, constantly keeping teammates involved while still being able to score it himself. With the ability to shoot from deep, pull up off the dribble, and attack off penetration, he keeps defenders guessing. Fernandez plays with toughness, willing to put his body on the floor to make a play, and brings the kind of energy that lifts his team.     Gosse is a big guard who uses his frame to get wherever he wants on the floor. He finishes with a soft touch around the rim and plays with a bruising, physical style that wears opponents down. A vocal leader with a high IQ, he acts like an on-court coach, constantly directing teammates and keeping everyone organized. On defense, he's just as physical, applying pressure on the ball and forcing turnovers with his strength and toughness.     Zelaya stood out with his ability to attack off the bounce, using shifty handles to break defenders down and get into the lane. He showed a smooth touch finishing around the rim and wasn't shy about letting it fly from beyond the arc. His athleticism popped in transition, where he used his speed and control to put points on the board. With his blend of confidence and versatility, Zelaya consistently put pressure on the defense.     Mills Jr. made his presence felt with relentless activity, especially on the defensive end where his quick hands created turnovers. On offense, he showed confidence in the midrange, knocking down pull-ups when defenders sagged off. Beyond the box score, he impacted the game with energy, toughness, and a willingness to do the little things that impact winning.
