Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The future Miami Hurricane and McDonald’s All-American delivered two double-digit scoring performances for the Explorers, showing once again why he projects to make an immediate impact in the ACC next season. The versatile forward used his size, strength, and athleticism to score efficiently while impacting the game in multiple areas. Continued development of his perimeter shooting will make him an even more difficult matchup at the next level.

The Miami signee averaged 26.5 points per game in a 1-1 start for the Explorers. Gaskins is physically dominant, even when playing against some of the nation’s top teams. The range on his jump shot continues to improve and will be a key factor in his ability to be an immediate impact freshman in Coral Gables next season.

Gaskins was a late transfer from Montverde at the end of October. His game is best utilized as a slasher and in the mid-range. With a soft touch on his jumper and floater/push shot, he tried to keep Columbus in it. He also did a good job on the glass. Defensively, he’s able to use his frame to absorb contact on drives and hold his ground but his length and reach are able to get into passing lanes and get deflections. Though he did not register a steal, he did disrupt Prolific on a few possessions, but they were able to recover the loose ball.

The Montverde transfer is ready to add more hardware to his trophy case. Coming down to Miami and joining an already stellar roster, Gaskins add offensive wrinkle and some more toughness to this Explorers lineup. The move should allow Gaskins to spread his wings a bit more defensively and use his frame and length to take advantage of matchups throughout the year. He’s already a very strong player so if he stays out of foul trouble and locks in defensively, Gaskins can show a more complete repertoire and really set himself apart from the rest of the 2026 class.

continues to shine, using his strong frame and improving skill set at Montverde Academy. Gaskins has a reliable shooting stroke and the defensive prowess to cover multiple positions. His rebounding and shot-blocking abilities have scouts excited, and he’s poised to bring high energy and versatility to whichever program he joins. One of the top 2026 prospects hands down.

frame is undeniable. The 6’8 forward has taken full advantage of the workout facilities at Montverde. His sheer size shows him going smoothly between forward spots. He played as an energetic rebounder who threatened defenders as a roller. He’s still a major name in the class, and USA comp invites are under his belt. I look forward to how he flexes what he learned at Montverde this summer.

The 6-7 sophomore wing continues to develop as he has a high ceiling worth of potential, where he can he has a sweet shooting stroke. Gaskins has the ability to defend all three levels using his length to cover his spots and is an elite rebounder for his size. He still needs to start gaining strength in his lower body and utilizing his speed as he is a coveted three-level scorer on the offensive end. Look for Gaskins to continue to evolve his game over the next 2-3 years as college coaches should start showing interest in him real soon.

, A 6-7 sophomore wing who transferred from Holy Trinity Episcopal to Montverde Academy after his freshman season comes in as the top-ranked sophomore in the state. Gaskins plays with a ton of physicality and length at both ends of the floor making things difficult for the opposition. Gaskins can challenge shots at the front of the rim as well as improved quickness to cover the perimeter. On the offensive end, Gaskin has a smooth release where he can knock down shots from all three scoring levels. He has the chance to improve his athleticism around his lower body as he continues to get stronger over the next three years. Gaskins averaged 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and shot 40 percent from the field last spring on the EYBL Circuit.

The 6-7 rising sophomore power forward is coming off a stellar freshman season where he helped lead Holy Trinity Episcopal to the Class 3A Semifinals. Gaskins is a solid rebounder and defender where he can get out guarding the perimeter as well as in the paint. He also has worked on improving his mid-range jumper where he is poised to have a breakout sophomore season at Montverde Academy. Gaskins is also unafraid to defend the opponent’s best player on any given night.
