Pro Net Sports: 2025 Back to School League- BGB 7th

This was the best 7th grade team I watched Saturday afternoon! The miniature guards stood out with their scoring and play-making ability. The bigs dominated inside the paint on both offense and defense.    Kaysean plays like a true floor general on the court. He's an excellent ball handler who creates for himself and others. Kaysean excels at getting to the basket and knocking down long range three-pointers. He made three of them over the course of the game. Passing was also a major strength of his game. Most of his assists led to positive plays for his BGB teammates. On defense, he was great at applying on-ball pressure to the Hard Work 7th Green back-court. He forced multiple steals and made ball handling difficult for the opposition. After watching him play, I believe Kaysean is an unselfish player who has the skills to become elite as he continues to grow and improve. Keep it up Kaysean!!     Malik is a tough guard who plays fearlessly. I truly appreciated watching the heart and determination he showed to get the job done. He's a great scorer who creates shots off the dribble, attacks the paint and knocks down shots on the perimeter. He was most effective scoring floaters in the lane. Malik showed a knack for making a high percentage of these shots. What made the shot look so sweet was the way he arched it over taller defenders. He's a great finisher in transition. Most of these scores came off the turnovers BGB forced as a team. Malik is an excellent defender who is great at jumping passing lanes. He's a good all around player who could become even greater as he ages. Keep working Malik!!      Christopher is the type of player who does it all. Whether it's scoring, rebounding, passing or defending, he always found ways of being effective. Christopher does all the “hustle work” for the BGB squad. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the court. Often grabbing boards that led to positive outcomes for the team. Many of them allowed his teammates to have second chance scoring opportunities. He scored most of his baskets around the rim after attacking the offensive glass. On some occasions, he was able to break opposing players off the dribble and get to the basket. Christopher is a great passing big man. He showed a knack for finding teammates cutting to the basket with pin-point passes. Defensively, Christopher blocked numerous shots and protected the paint from the opposition. Keep it up Christopher!!     Avale excels at grabbing rebounds, scoring around the basket and defending. He's a team first player who does what he needs to help the team win. Avale dominated the boards on both ends of the court. Especially on the offensive side. Most of his scores came off hustle plays. Such as, offensive rebounds and put-backs from missed shots. Avale set excellent screens that often freed up BGB players for clean looks at the basket. Whether it's freeing up teammates for jump-shots or creating stronger drives to the basket, Avale was a difference maker for BGB. On defense, he protected the paint and contested every shot Hard Work 7th Green sent his way. Once he improves his skills on offense, Avale will be a serious problem for opposing coaches and players. Keep working Avale!!     Dominique showed the ability to score from all three levels of the court. Whether it was getting to the basket, scoring from mid-range or knocking down three-pointers, Hard Work 7th Green had no answers. Dominique easily beat opponents off the dribble. This allowed him to make plays by either scoring or kicking out assists to open teammates. In one-on-one situations, he was able to create enough space to effectively make jump-shots on the perimeter. Whenever the opportunity came to nail a three-pointer, Dominique showed no hesitation. In my opinion, this young man was the most skilled offensive player on the court. As I said, he literally scores from everywhere on the court. Defensively, he had three steals and numerous ball deflections. Dominique is a legit scorer who has a bright future ahead of him.
