Prep Hoops Iowa Freshman Showcase: Team 2 Evaluations

A poised ball-handler who doesn't get sped up against pressure, Wyatt handles the ball well, sees the floor, and is a good passer who gets his teammates involved well. He shoots it well off the catch when he has his feet set and is an active defender who moves his feet well.     A combo guard with good size and a solid frame to continue to build upon, Dietrick is active on the glass on both ends of the floor from his perimeter spot, grabbing his team valuable second chances or shutting down opportunities for the opposition. He's a good ball-handler who can attack overly aggressive closeouts and get to the rim for finishes.     A knockdown shooter with a pure stroke, Greenwalt knocked down shot after shot from the 3-point line, especially off the catch. He moves well without the ball in his hands, finding open spaces in the defense and he has a quick release off the catch. He's an active defender with good hands.     A strong wing with a physical frame, Kline does a great job on the glass on both ends of the floor. He likes to use his physicality to play bully ball, backing down smaller defenders for buckets or to find open teammates. He has the size, athleticism, and strength to provide some versatility on the defensive end as well.     A bouncy guard who plays bigger than his listed 5-6, Smith showed great body control around the rim and the ability to finish through contact with either hand around the rim. He's an aggressive offensive player who likes to attack the rim off the dribble, and his speed and quick hands are also certainly an asset on the defensive end of the floor.     A long, rangy defender who can move his feet on that end of the floor against smaller players or protect the rim, Farley was a standout in 5-on-5 play with his defensive versatility. On one possession he may get switched onto a guard and hold his own, making them give it up. On the next, he was dropping in coverage and contesting a shot at the bucket against a slashing guard. He was truly a force on that end of the floor. Offensively he has the ability to step out and stretch the floor with a quick, high release on his jumper with range out to the 3-point line.     I really liked what I saw out of Mansaray throughout the afternoon. An athletic, physical guard with a tremendous first step, he was in constant attack mode, looking to get to the rim for finishes time after time. He's a blur in the open court with the ball in his hands, and when he gets to the rim, he showcased some truly impressive body control, seemingly hanging in the air until the defender was on his descent before laying the ball in. An active defender who moves his feet well, he has quick hands, can knock down shots off the catch from distance, and is a capable playmaker with the ball in his hands. He was one of the more impressive players throughout the afternoon.
