Wyatt Farley Wyatt Farley 6'7" | PF/SF Dallas Center-Grimes | 2029 State IA was a high-impact sniper throughout this event. He was an absolute marksman from downtown. Both off the catch and off the bounce, he sprayed over defenders. His high and incredibly brief release made it extremely difficult for opponents to slow him down. And his shooting footwork, fluidity, and high arc allowed him to hit many deep-range shots at a high clip. It really looked like every defender’s contests were in vain every time he decided to let it fly. This fluency as a shooter and soft touch translated to other areas of the court as well. Such as mid-range jumpers, floaters, and around-the-rim finishes. Which were no problem for Wyatt, even with defenders in his face. And because of his gravity as a shot maker, he was elite at finding open teammates and punishing rotating defenders. Displaying his basketball IQ and feel. His size, length, and lightness on his feet made him a problem on defense. He had great versatility at this event, guarding multiple possessions and providing excellent help defense.

Farley is another long, versatile combo forward who can do a little bit of everything, and his ability to defend multiple positions will be among the best in the gym on Saturday. What I’m looking for from him is how his offensive game has developed. Is he a bit more comfortable with the ball in his hands now? Can he create some looks for himself and his teammates? Knock down shots off the catch? He’s one of the players I’m most looking forward to seeing in any class, because I’m really excited about his long-term potential.

Farley didn’t get any varsity run as a freshman, but he’s an intriguing young combo forward who can provide a ton of defensive versatility. He’s long, athletic, and mobile, showing the ability to guard one through five at the high school level. He looks like he could become a pretty solid 3-and-D wing as he continues to develop.

A long, rangy defender who can move his feet on that end of the floor against smaller players or protect the rim, Farley was a standout in 5-on-5 play with his defensive versatility. On one possession he may get switched onto a guard and hold his own, making them give it up. On the next, he was dropping in coverage and contesting a shot at the bucket against a slashing guard. He was truly a force on that end of the floor. Offensively he has the ability to step out and stretch the floor with a quick, high release on his jumper with range out to the 3-point line.
