On Thursday, August 14th, I attended the KB3 Elite and Gold Standard Summer Draft League all star game. There was lots of talent on display, and I'll be highlighting some of the guys that stood out.

Stromme really impressed with his ability to athletically attack the cup and finish at the rim. For a rising sophomore who's only 6-foot-1, he has some pretty explosive burst to the hoop and some nice hops once he enters the paint. He also handles the ball well with a head of steam and has a variety of pickup moves and crafty footwork in the paint. And, though he missed his outside shots, he has a nice looking stroke and is probably a solid shooter. With a Worcester Academy team in major flux, Stromme has a solid chance to have an impact as an underclassmen.

Poage is an incredibly intriguing prospect because of his size and skillset, but also how young and underdeveloped he looks physically. The 6-foot-5 rising freshman has some wiggle and handle to his game but also excels in the pick and roll and dribble hand off game. He understands screening angles and timing, and he can pass from the high post and perimeter. Poage looks like he'll grow more and put on lots of weight, so his development is far from over -- certainly keep taps on him at Arlington Catholic moving forward.

Like Poage, Maina looks very underdeveloped physically and I have to believe he's far from done growing. The 6-foot-1 guard is incredibly long and strides down the floor like a gazelle. He's a solid finisher and has a nice skillset -- he can shoot, pass and dribble -- but the strength is still coming along. I could totally see him blooming late and eventually transferring to a prep school for an extra year; that being said, it's far too early to predict if or at what level Maina will be able to play college basketball.

Robinson is a quick and shifty guard who has a knack for getting into the paint and finishing around the defense. Despite his size (5-foot-10), the rising freshman is a relentless attacker and never stops going north and south to the hoop; he has really good footwork and craft in the paint, and the floater and jumper game to go with it. He also has deep three point range. Catholic Memorial will be an awesome place for Robinson to improve his PG abilities -- he knows the right decision to make, he just needs to make it quicker.

Frazier dominated with his physicality and athleticism in Thursday night's all star game. The 6-foot-3 forward gets above the rim for dunks and runs the floor quite consistently -- he seemed to be one of the better conditioned athletes in the contest. He also made an outside shot and showcased the ability to finish and-one opportunities. If Frazier wants to play college hoops, he'll have to continue developing his guard skills, but he has lots of time to do so.
