High School Spotlight: South Bend Riley Wildcats

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. He is 86-39<strong>&nbsp;</strong>as a head coach.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Will compete for Sectional 3 Championship.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2398991' first='Tyrese' last='Jones']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jahari-miller/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>&nbsp;South Bend Riley will lose a lot of talent in the backcourt from last season but the guy that is primed to step up and fill a big void is senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2398991' first='Tyrese' last='Jones']. The 6'0 guard plays with a good amount of bounce and athleticism, making him a real electric player at times. In the open space, he is real tough to contain, as well. He steps in as the best player for South bend Riley and could have a breakout year at the same time. Small college should be taking a look at this guy. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2560361' first='Dontreyelle' last='Johnson']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/landon-lampley/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A player that I have been high on since I saw him at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, impressed even more being a freshman that played a pivotal role at the varsity level as a day one starter. Johnson, while maybe a bit undersized, plays extremely well in the post with a soft scoring touch, strong frame, and great mechanics. He will once again play an important role for the Wildcats and will be their primary option in the paint.
