My annual Film Room series is back for another year! There were over 90 prospects who submitted High School, Grassroots, or Camp Highlights in the first 24 hours for review and all will be featured in an article on Prep Hoops. Check out my thoughts on the first group of 2026s and watch their film in the post from @AndrewBaxleySC on X (Twitter):

[player_tooltip player_id='2253482' first='Jordan' last='Brown'] (Dreher) - Starting off the Film Room is Dreher's [player_tooltip player_id='2253482' first='Jordan' last='Brown']. He replied with film from his AAU Season with [program_tooltip program_id='2134373' first='Team' last='USC Unleashed EYBL'] and [program_tooltip program_id='2231960' first='Big' last='Shots SC']. Brown's film displayed a good balance of perimeter shooting and athletic playmaking. He knocked down spot-up threes, movement threes, and a step-back three. He also used his athleticism to block shots and finish at the rim. Jordan will often force on-ball turnovers or leak out in transition to capitalize on easy opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='1711395' first='Carter' last='Bears'] (St. Joseph's) - Bears has been featured in the Film Room for multiple years now, and one thing that he has added to his game is the ability to score off the dribble. His film started off with a few nice finishes where he took opposing bigs off the bounce and got to the rim. Carter also displayed very good footwork, balance in finishing with both hands, and a knack for cleaning the offensive glass. He is a scrappy defender, too, who will take charges and get on the floor for loose balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='1848083' first='Talan' last='Staley'] (Ridge View) - There are few in the state whose stock with College Coaches has risen as much as Talan's over the Spring and Summer, and his highlight reel was a good glimpse into why. He has developed into a major offensive weapon, being able to create good shots at all three levels off the dribble with his handle, pace, and length, as well as knock down catch-and-shoot threes. Staley's film showed some flashes of his passing, particularly with skip passes and post-entry passes.

Zaymarion Watkins (Gaffney) - Watkins' film is from the SCBCA Live Event in North Augusta. I got the chance to watch him and his team, and what he showed on video is similar to what my notes were when I watched live. He excels in transition, both as a passer and as a finisher. Zaymarion has active hands and rotates well to force turnovers, allowing himself and others to get out on the break. Watkins is patient around the rim, and he also knocked down a right-wing three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2879606' first='Braylon' last='Givens'] (Gaffney) - Rounding out the list is the second Gaffney Indian, [player_tooltip player_id='2879606' first='Braylon' last='Givens']. He had a nice June with his High School team, impressing at both the Boiling Springs Play Day and the SCBCA Live Event. Givens has decent size at 6'4" but is more of a finesse forward. He can stretch the floor with shooting on the wings and in the corners, or take his man off the dribble. However, Givens did show a few nice moments closer to the rim, including a pick-and-roll finish and a few offensive putbacks.
