As the summer comes to a close, we'll continue to take a look at prospects from each of New England's six states that could be in line for breakout campaigns this winter.

Below are five prospects from Maine that we expect to have big seasons.

Colton Crowdis

The 2026 prospect out of Bridgton Academy could be a breakout prospect not just in Maine, but in the entire region. A native of Canada, Crowdis is a big (6'4") lead guard that is a dynamic, above-the-rim athlete. He has real breakdown ability in isolation situations, showing that he knows how to create space off the bounce and get by the initial defender. He makes good decisions out of ball screens, can knock down contested shots, and is a highlight waiting to happen in transition. Defensively, he guards both perimeter positions, can rebound in space and above the rim, and turns deflections and steals into transition scoring opportunities. Crowdis has the chance to generate some real scholarship level interest with his two-way versatility and ability to take over games with the ball in his hands.

Nabiyoulahi Diakite

The 2026 prospect out of Bridgton Academy is primed to play a big role in the front-court this winter after adjusting to the speed and physicality of the prep game last season. A long and lean 6'7" hybrid forward, Diakite makes his impact on both ends of the floor with his effort and disruptive length. He has the ability to make plays as a straight line driver from the perimeter, scores on putbacks off of offensive rebounds around the rim, and is really good when he get get out and run the floor in transition. Defensively, he is disruptive in passing lanes with his length, can guard on the perimeter due to his lateral quickness, and can really block shots out of the help position. Diakite is a real college prospect that has impressive physical gifts and measurables and the ability to be a disruptive and versatile defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='2553812' first='Adam' last='Fitzgerald']

The 2026 prospect out of Scarborough had a big junior season scoring the ball and should pop as one of the state's best players this winter. Fitzgerald is a 6'3" guard that can really shoot the basketball, but has done a lot of work to add other elements to his game offensively. He does a nice job of moving without the basketball in the half-court, utilizing off ball screens and DHO's to create scoring opportunities. He has deep range on his jumper and the ability to create the space he needs to get it off with the bounce. He's a high IQ cutter and doesn't cause the ball to stick in the half-court. Defensively, his length is an asset and he does a nice job of being in the right spot in rotations. Fitzgerald should become a prospect that college coaches are familiar with as his ability to score the ball directly translates to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2950400' first='Tyrie' last='James']

The 2026 prospect out of Windham is a winner through and through, and after two years as a complimentary player on state championship teams, will have the keys to the offense this season. A 5'10" guard, James is a dynamic ball-handler that has made some really big plays in high level situations over the years. The compact guard does a nice job of utilizing his low center of gravity to his advantage, making plays off the bounce through contact and proving to be a crafty finisher around the rim. He makes shots from behind the arc, elevates in the mid-range to quickly get off his jumper, and makes good decisions with the ball when he gets into the paint. He's ultra competitive and uses that to his advantage on the defensive end of the floor, where he has elite lateral quickness. James is a proven winner and impactful play-maker that will play in college down the line and should have plenty of eyes on him this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2553856' first='Logan' last='Zoulamis']

The 2026 prospect out of Mt. Ararat is a name that should make its way through basketball circles up north this winter. Zoulamis is a 6'0" guard that really knows how to score the basketball and can do so in a variety of ways. He's a good mover without the basketball, runs the floor hard in transition, and is quick to get into his shot off the catch. His mechanics are repeatable and he has a really quick release on his jumper, allowing him to get it off at any time. He does a good job of spacing the floor and is a high IQ cutter too. Defensively, he sits in a stance and really competes, showing a willingness to make hustle plays that lead to turnovers. Zoulamis has a chance to catch the attention of college coaches and should be able to do so with his scoring package this season.
