The new academic school year is coming soon as September is less than two weeks away. The 2027 class is ready to have a big season, especially in the back court. Here are the 2027 Group 4 prospects to track this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344521' first='Micah' last='Gordon'], 6'0 Plainfield

Gordon is the top rated guard prospect in the class and should put his game on display throughout the course of the season. The 6'0 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. Gordon can also score in the mid-range and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. He finds his open teammates in the half court and can get deflections on the defensive end. Gordon is capable of putting up points in bunches as he looks to lead Plainfield back to a Group 4 title.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344532' first='Nolan' last='Gong'], 5'10 Marlboro

Gong is one of the top shooters in the 2027 class and will look to put it on display this season. The 5'10 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Gong is more than just a shooter as he can also get into the rim off the bounce and finish around the basket. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated passer. Gong is a sharp-shooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763527' first='Chris' last='Abreu'], Cherry Hill East

Abreu had a big summer and is looking to carry that over into the winter. He uses his speed to blow by his defender in the half court and finishes strong around the rim. Abreu can also score in the mid-range and rarely gets sped up by on-ball pressure. He makes it tough for his man to get to his spot on the floor and can also play off the ball. Abreu is a shifty guard prospect that should make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201944' first='Allan' last='Gomez'], 5'11 Elizabeth

Gomez joins a talented Minutemen back court, where he should make his impact right away. The Union City transfer plays with good floor vision as he finds his open teammates in the half court and gets to his spot on the floor. Gomez has a good shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. He makes it tough for his man to get to his spot on the floor and pushes the pace well in transition. Gomez's ability to run the offense is something that will help his stock throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201964' first='Elijah' last='Caldwell'], 5'6 East Orange

Caldwell is primed for a breakout campaign as he should get more touches within the flow of the offense. The 5'6 guard uses his speed to blow by his defender off the bounce and knows how to finish around the basket. Caldwell can also score in the mid-range and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He is a tough on-ball defender and finds his open teammates in the half court. Caldwell is a shifty guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor this winter.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='2203814' first='Gabriel' last='Kielb'], 5'10 Ridge

[player_tooltip player_id='2748965' first='Landon' last='Pernell'], 6'0 Piscataway

[player_tooltip player_id='2771933' first='James' last='Lawson'], 5'9 Vineland
