This past weekend, I attended the Zero Gravity Live Finale at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA. I watched mostly games from the varsity division, though I saw some other games as well.

As always, it's impossible to see every team and player. Just because you aren't written up doesn't mean you didn't have a great weekend --- it's just hard to get a chance to watch everybody.

I'll be having coverage throughout the week recapping the event.

First up are some 2026 guards to watch.

Rogers is an incredibly strong-bodied point guard who appears a lot taller than 5-foot-11 because of his ridiculously long arms and broad shoulders. He's in complete control of the game as a floor general and is a real menace in transition. He's a great rebounder for his position and consistently got boards and then immediately ran fast breaks for his squad. He makes awesome decisions in the paint and is calm and controlled under pressure. Really solid defender, too, who competes all the time. Should be able to find a D3 fit somewhere.

Johnson Jr. is super intriguing as a long term prospect, though he's already a rising senior. He strokes it from three and also has some wiggle to his handle, and he's a great leaper once he gets to the rim. He also showed some really impressive flashes as a passer, though he eventually looked for his shot a lot more than his teammates. If he can put together his passing and scoring ability --- finding the right combination of aggressiveness and unselfishness --- he can be a really solid D3 hooper and have a big time senior season at West Haven High School.

Ellis-Cipriano had an up-and-down game against Hoopville on Saturday afternoon but had some flashes of really nice combo-guard play throughout. The 6-foot-3 rising senior has the ball on a string and uses his hang and hesitation dribbles to freeze the defense before getting into the lane. He also knocked down 4-5 long range jumpers — off of both the catch and the dribble — and looked incredibly confident when it came to letting it fly. I'm unsure about his motor and general ability to play hard consistently, but it's also difficult to tell something like that in AAU. This will be a big senior season for his D3 hopes.

Marsh was fairly dominant athletically in his Saturday afternoon game for SCBC. The 6-foot-2 guard has great explosion off the dribble and can really elevate at the rim when he gets a head of steam. He flies off of one foot and does such a good job extending his arms for layups. When the help comes in the lane and stops his momentum, he has a really nice pull-up jumper and elevates effectively over contests, too. He needs to improve his handle and feel if he wants to play high D3 ball, but he should be able to find a fit somewhere regardless.

Another tournament, another weekend of Echevarria dominating with his strength and control at the point guard position. Even though he's undersized --- standing at 5-foot-10 --- he's ridiculously strong and other guards just bounce off of him when he gets going downhill. The shot is very hit or miss, but he can get incredibly hot when he's feeling good. Defensively, he has active hands and slides his feet very well. He should be the starting point guard and a key cog for St. Marks this season, and I would bet he'll find a high D3 fit the year after that.

This past weekend, I attended the Zero Gravity Live Finale at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA. I watched mostly games from the varsity division, though I saw some other games as well.
