The first stop on the July recruiting calendar tipped off this past Thursday and college coaches were back on the sidelines getting an up close look at high school prospects. The Under Armour Association held its third session in Cartersville, GA this past weekend and a load of New Jersey prospects made strong impressions on college coaches. The Garden State was well represented across multiple programs as we saw a handful of prospects continue to boost their stocks while we also saw under the radar prospects arise from the weekend with head turning performances. Let's take a look at some guys from the state of New Jersey that caught my attention during UAA's Session III.

A true table setting floor general, [player_tooltip player_id='2628166' first='Santonio' last='Waide'] was extremely affective distributing the basketball and running the offense for B Maze Elite. Playing with good change of pace, Waide showed good feel for the game as a decision maker and a PnR operator— making sharp and on time decisions hitting pocket passes to rolling bigs and spraying out to open shooters. Waide used his quickness off the bounce to get deep in the paint and make plays both for himself and others. Waide showed good instincts as a defender and played with good anticipation defensively— playing with active hands, good timing as a help defender, picking up the length of the floor, and containing drives out on the perimeter.

A new addition to Epic Elite's backcourt, [player_tooltip player_id='2763494' first='Jayden' last='Solomon'] showcased a diverse scoring attack, mixing it up between knocking down shots from behind the three point line, attacking the basket off the bounce, and even flashes of his in between game in the mid range area. Solomon also shouldered some of the ball handling responsibilities, handling the ball against pressure and initiating offense at times. Solomon also stood out on the defensive end, pressuring the ball out on the perimeter, containing drives, and playing the passing lanes with great anticipation ultimately turning defense into offense.

A strong and formidable presence on the interior, [player_tooltip player_id='2845829' first='Will' last='Meribe'] used his size and length in combination with his athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the floor. A powerful rebounder, Meribe feasted on the offensive and defensive glass— showing good timing and a solid second jump as a rebounder. Meribe also showed good timing and instincts as an intimidating shot blocker, altering and blocking shot attempts at the rim. Meribe also showed flashes of his improving low post game— both with his back to the basket and with his face up game. Flying around all over the floor, Meribe played with a relentless motor that didn't seem to ever stop over the course of the weekend.

Matt Kennedy torched the nets from distance throughout the whole weekend putting up impressive shooting numbers. Possessing a quick and high release, the confident sharpshooting two guard consistently hunted his shot and demonstrated he needs little space to get his shot off. Kennedy also showcased his versatility as a perimeter shot maker— shooting it coming off screens just as effectively as he does off the catch, constantly making the defense pay for lazy closeouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202014' first='Rey' last='Weinseimer'] was extremely effective as a threat off the ball, spacing the floor as a perimeter shooter and shooting the three ball with extreme confidence. Weinseimer was productive as a shooter on the move— utilizing different screens and pin downs to get open and get his shot off from three point territory against opposing defenses. Defensively, Weinseimer played with tremendous toughness, constantly pressuring the ball the length of the floor and containing drives out on the perimeter.

Poised and under control running the show from the point guard position, [player_tooltip player_id='2201947' first='Anthony' last='Gonzalez'] excelled at setting the table for this Shoreshots' 16U group over the weekend. Gonzalez put an immense amount of pressure on the rim, using his speed to push the pace in transition and attack off the bounce in the half court. Gonzalez continued to display his reliability as a decision maker finding a healthy balance between scoring and facilitating— making sharp and quick decisions while attacking. Gonzalez also looked really comfortable shooting the three ball from the perimeter in rhythm, knocking down a handful of open threes over the weekend.

A poised and skilled guard with the ball in his hands, [player_tooltip player_id='2504902' first='Jamieson' last='Young'] found a steady and healthy balance between attacking off the bounce and perimeter shot making within the flow of the offense. Poised and patient off the bounce, Young demonstrated his ability to finish with a nice touch around the basket and in the mid range area when defenses ran him off the three point line. Young shot the three ball with efficiency off the catch, with fluidity on the move, and with confidence from deep range. Young also displayed good court vision in the ways he was able to find open teammates in the open floor in transition as well as in half court sets when he saw multiple defenders.

A strong ball handler, Owusu demonstrated his ability to be an unselfish passer and create clean and open looks for his teammates. Owusu also demonstrated his ability to be a steady shot maker off the bounce, particularly in the mid range area and in the painted area with touch both in the half court and in transition.
