Our second ranked player in the state, Smith was dominant for [program_tooltip program_id='2076317' first='Midwest' last='Basketball Club 3SSB'] this summer helping his team win the Palmetto Road Championship and going unbeaten on the circuit all season. Smith makes an incredible two-way impact with his defensive ability and can punch it on a defenders head in transition off steals. I was also really impressed with Smith's passing ability, making some sweet skip passes and not forcing the issue when he's attacking downhill. One of the most talented athletes in Ohio, Smith is a prospect who will be well-known regionally sooner rather than later.

A high upside wing who could breakout this season, Vaughn Jr is in the perfect situation to become a household name. There's a lot new about Saint Ignatius this season with a new head coach after Cam Joyce moved out to California and new names to know after the dynamic duo of Damon Friery and Quinn Woidke are now at Division I programs after an incredible run for the Blue and Gold. Vaughn Jr has all the tools to be the next star player for the Wildcats with his combination of length, athleticism, ball handling ability and motor. The flashes Vaughn Jr showed this summer (some of the brightest captured by 3rd coast hoops) were very intriguing and he's a prospect who we'll be following along with his development.

The lefty Rardin is one of the elite wing shooters with size in Ohio's 2028 class and I've been lucky enough to see him both with [program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] and with Turpin this summer. With [program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] you get to see Rardin make shots Vs some of the top athletes in the country for his age. That skill is a valuable one as his positional size gives you a chance to defend on the interior, especially once Rardin fills out his frame as he matures. With Turpin, the offense is more centered around him and he's able to use his size to post up and score at the rim while also flashing some more passing ability since he's playing on the ball more often. I always encourage scouts and college coaches to see players in multiple settings to see how their game changes based on the personal around them. Rardin is a prime example of a wing who can play a couple different roles based on what is being asked of him.

Another sharp shooting wing, Dunn looks like a potential breakout candidate for Lakota West this season, one of the top teams in Ohio. Dunn has positional size, shoots a clean ball, plays with confidence and still has room to develop physically as he matures. College teams are always looking for 3-and-D wings and Dunn has the potential to do both of those things at a high level. Key name to know in Cincinnati's 2028 class.
