-Calhoun stood out above the rest as a standout performer as the MVP on his way to a SL championship with KIPP. Calhoun was hitting a ton of perimeter shots both off the catch and off the bounce to pace his team throughout all 3 games. His activity on the glass was consistent and he found a way to come up with some big defensive rebounds in traffic to close out possessions for KIPP. His defensive activity really picked up after the 1H of game one and never really dropped off, serving as an effective guard defender that helped down well on bigs to contest shots around the rim. Like the improvements that he has made as a slasher and he has definitely added a dimension to his game by improving his vertical pop.

-Really dynamic athlete in the open floor that kept the game with T Rose close in the first half of play. Creamer raced the ball effectively in transition, finished well around the rim, and recovered well to block some shots on the ball. Creamer played with a dynamic athleticism throughout the game, serving as an effective slasher in the half court. Love the way that he throws caution to the wind on the glass and on his drives to the rim, playing a physical brand of basketball and bullying taller/stronger defenders off their spot.

-Hall always serves as an effective piece for TR as a physical slashing G/F tweener. He has a nose for the basketball and comes seemingly out of nowhere to steal away rebounds or grab a miss and laying the ball up before the defense can react. Hall is an effective driver with the ball in his hands and has really worked on his footwork around the basket to create efficient finishing angles around the rim to score around taller defenders. Love his upside as a help defender with great feel that understands when he needs to rotate over to help but also recovers well to the ball on closeouts without giving up driving lanes to the basket.

-Jackson was probably the most difficult guard to stay in front of in his first tournament in new threads with Cardozo. Jackson understands angles and sees the help coming to race past them to turn the corner and create an advantage situation for his team. Jackson is especially dynamic in transition, showing how adept he is at drawing fouls or delivering well-timed passes to teammates for easy layups or open perimeter jumpers. Jackson's pull-up jumper is also much more smooth and quicker, allowing him to score with range from all three levels of the floor. Want to see him use his quickness more often at the defensive end of the floor as well as see him leverage his speed and size to fight over ball screens to disrupt offensive flow on a more consistent basis. Should be one of the best newcomers in the DCIAA this season.

-Steele will definitely be one of the biggest risers in our next rankings update as a point guard that can impact winning in a variety of ways. Steele hits the glass REALLY hard for his size and position, looked good as the conductor for a KIPP offense that produced at a pretty high level, and is pretty versatile at the defensive end of the floor. Love the way that he gutted through some calf cramps and responded to tough coaching to finish with a double-double in the championship win. Think he can be one of the best guards in DC if he can continue to sharpen his handle and speed up the back foot burst to be more explosive in the paint.

-Fort looked really good in new threads with the Avalon school as an explosive W/F tweener that impacts the game with his athleticism. Fort had several phenomenal effort plays to sprint back in transition and come up with some explosive blocks at the basket to help his team fight back against TR. Fort knocked down an open 3, hit a double clutch alley oop layup in traffic in transition, and cleaned up misses around the basket to finish with a near double-double. I like his fit with this Avalon team and he should have more of an opportunity to impact the game defensively and carve out a consistent role at the offensive end of the floor as a 3+D wing.
