We updated our rankings on the site today with 135 total prospects from Washington DC and Maryland, with 21 new names on the site. That list can be found hyperlinked here. These rankings are based off of a mix of their performance during the season as well as our scouts' long-term projection for their careers at the next level and beyond. Yesterday I covered our top 10 prospects in the freshman class, found here. In this article I'll break down a few of the players that saw their stock rise in this update or joined the new rankings for the first time this week. Let's dive in!

-O'Brien served as a skilled guard off the bench for a deep and senior-led Whitman team that played in the Regional Championship. O'Brien has good positional size, spaces the floor well with his perimeter shooting, and made better reads attacking closeouts as the season wore on as the game began to slow down for him. Interested to see how his role shakes out with a really talented 15u Durant group.

-A sleeper that our staff is high on, White served as a versatile prospect on the JV team this season for John Carroll. White played 1-4 at times throughout the season for the Patriots, showing his versatility at both ends of the floor as a prospect with good positional size that plays with an aggression that belies his age. White gets to his spots in the halfcourt, is an unselfish passer off the bounce, and improved his scoring touch over the course of the season. White traveled with varsity over the course of last summer and sat on the bench for games, with some key pieces heading to college next season-- he seems primed for a big role next season in Essex.

-The Thomas Johnson wing has a really intriguing blend of skills as a W/F tweener with some nice upside. Tema has a great frame, plays hard at both ends of the floor, and should carve out a substantial role with Boys Latin as a physical rebounder that can guard multiple spots. Tema's skill level has come along nicely over the past few months, as he can more effectively put the ball on the floor and pass off the live dribble. Intrigued to track his development over the offseason to see how it fluctuates as he continues to grow taller.

-Brown might be the most under-the-radar prospect in the class as a skilled lead guard that is a smooth operator with the ball in his hands. Brown started for Glen Burnie this season and proved his value as a super creative ballhandler that can shoot and pass off the bounce from all 3 levels of the floor. Will be super interesting to see the team/role that his circle picks to run with this summer, but I expect him to become a respected name in the class next season.

-Pate is an intriguing prospect to track in 2029 as one of the better players on a good Largo JV team this past season. Standing at 6'5- Pate is an explosive leaper, runs the floor extremely hard, and cleans up most of his misses around the rim. I think there's a pathway to him being successful as either a 3 or 4 depending on his developmental trajectory, but regardless he should be a physical and versatile defender. If he can improve the ballhandling to keep past with his explosive long strides as well as the touch around the rim, I think there's a roadmap to consistent playing time at the varsity level for the Lions.
