AAU is over with and we are only a couple of weeks away from the start of school. Coming out of the summer, there have been a few Juniors who have picked up serious recruiting momentum in the last 6 weeks or so. Here's a look at a few 2027s that have the potential to break out in a big way this season.

Brody has had a strong summer in both AAU and in camp settings. Belfry has added some new pieces over the summer and Little could be on the short list for best players in the region, preseason. A quick first step and a solid jumper help Brody on the offensive end and he's shown that he has the ability to switch across positions on the defensive end. Little is a name to monitor this season.

LaRue has lost a bunch of talent to graduation and transfer in the last 4 months but Harris is primed for a breakout season for the Hawks. There are several rising Juniors that will form the core of the LaRue County roster this season and Mikey is the best of the bunch. A good shooter who continues to improve his all around game, Harris is going to have the ball in his hands a lot this season and could be the most likely breakout candidate in the 5th region this year.

There is nothing flashy about Buell but he just gets the job done on both ends. Capable of scoring against anyone, I watched Ethan score close to 30 against Jeffersontown this season. He's also a good rebounder when he wants to be. Ethan has the ability to play inside or out and doesn't seem to get sped up when he has the ball in his hands. Look for Bell County to be a top team in the 13th this year and [player_tooltip player_id='2149111' first='Ethan' last='Buell'] to be one of the best players in the region.

Montgomery County lost some talent to graduation but have been hurt this offseason by losing Makhi Mahorn to a torn ACL and [player_tooltip player_id='1359131' first='Luke' last='Fawns'] deciding to retire from basketball and graduate early this winter. That's going to open a lot of opportunity for Rowlett to play on the wing and show he's more than just a shooter. A 42% shooter from three last season, Isaiah barely ventured inside the three point line on offense. If he can continue to add to his overall offensive game, Rowlett can be a factor in the regional title race again.

A name that isn't familiar to many, Brecount has legitimate size and has become much more athletic and coordinated in the last year or so. John should be a varsity rotation player for the Colonels and could be an X factor in the always competitive 9th region. If Brecount shows he can move well enough to guard multiple positions, he should push for a solid role with Cov Cath and could work his way on to college radars over the next calendar year.
