Expert Analysis
Doneah Marshall | Prep Hoops Scout
Bell County was one of the most threatening competitors in the state this past season and Ethan had a lot to do with it. He put up more shots than anyone over the course of the Bobcats’ season and connected on over 51% of his attempts while doing so. Not to mention securing nearly 6 REB per contest. His combination of size and strength paired with his ability to stretch the floor will make Ethan one of KY’s top returners next season.

Buell moves so well with or without the ball. He is able to get himself open or create his own shots. He finished the game with his own 9-0 run to close the door on the Tigers. He finished the game with 14 points leading both teams in scoring.

Buell is one of the players who I think others would appreciate if they got to see him. An underrated athlete, Ethan is very skilled and has good size. Able to get to his spots and score the ball, Buell should be one of the anchors for a Bell County team that hopes to get to Rupp Arena in March.

Ethan is an intriguing prospect that I’d like to see more of. He climbed up 11 spots from 51st to 40th in this update and could still be underrated. With good size and the ability to score from all over, I think Buell could have some serious potential if he proves he can guard athletic wings out on the perimeter. When I’ve seen Ethan, he’s been sitting in a zone most of the time.

Buell is a high IQ wing with “old school game” but can shoot it at a high clip and plays without getting sped up. After watching him excel against elite athletes on J-town’s roster in June, I bought all the

There is nothing flashy about Buell but he just gets the job done on both ends. Capable of scoring against anyone, I watched Ethan score close to 30 against Jeffersontown this season. He’s also a good rebounder when he wants to be. Ethan has the ability to play inside or out and doesn’t seem to get sped up when he has the ball in his hands. Look for Bell County to be a top team in the 13th this year and

Buell showed a nice jump shot with good, repeatable mechanics. He’s got soft touch and can put the ball on the floor to attack the rim. His first step could get a little quicker and I’d like to see him on defense more than I did on Saturday but Ethan has a couple more years to improve those aspects of his game. He can be a factor in the 13th region.

Ethan does a lot of the little things that go unnoticed. He competes on both ends of the floor especially on the glass. Comes up with timely boards, deflections, and blocks. Stays engaged with his effort even when he doesn’t have it going offensively.
