Both scouts and prospects often make the mistake of thinking that basketball doesn't exist outside of the live evaluation periods. Sure, it is fun rubbing elbows with high-major Division I basketball coaches at the Peach Jam. However, we at Prep Hoops Indiana are just as happy covering games at the Turnstone - Plassman Athletic Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana with a smattering of Division II, Division III, and NAIA coaches. Here are nine standouts from Friday night's action.

[program_tooltip program_id='2470527' first='Indy' last='Heat Red'] 17u might have only had five players on Friday evening, but it didn't keep them from finding a way to win. Coffey was a big part of that as the 5'11" guard from Shenandoah High School poured in 25 points to go with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. He is known as a dead-eye three-point shooter, and Coffey did plenty of shot-making on Friday night, but he also impressed as a primary ball handler and playmaker.

INB Elite 17u's backcourt led them to a hard-fought victory on Friday night and Ford was certainly a big part of that. The 5'11" guard's motor is one thing that consistently stands out. He was all over the floor creating as a playmaker offensively and causing havoc defensively. Ford went on to finish with 15 points showcasing his ability to attack the basket off of the dribble and score from different levels. He projects well as a small college guard.

In terms of college prospectus, Grau was as impressive as anyone that we watched on Friday night at the GRBA National Championship. The 6'4" wing was on fire from mid-range, used his length and athleticism to score consistently in transition, and displayed some real versatility on both ends of the floor. Grau, a rising senior at Westview High School playing with 5Star - Beadles 17u, poured in 27 points in an easy win. There were several small college programs in attendance to watch him play.

As you would expect from an Indiana Junior All-Star, Jones turned in one of the most impressive individual performances of the night at the GRBA National Championship. The dynamic 5'11" playmaker poured in 32 points for [program_tooltip program_id='2814675' first='Indiana' last='Eclipse'] 17u in an 80-62 victory. Jones, a rising senior at South Bend Riley High School, is just so hard to keep out of the paint and he was able to lay it up consistently in this contest.

We have really started to buy stock in this explosive point guard lately. McGee gets downhill in a hurry, is an excellent finisher around the rim with both hands, and displays a real athletic pop as a finisher. He was the star for INB Elite 17u on Friday night scoring a team-high 17 points in a hard fought victory. McGee's ability to consistently get paint touches and attack the rim as a driver makes him one for small college coaches to keep an eye on heading into his senior season at University.

One of the better catch-and-shoot, left-handed guards in southern Indiana, Odle showed off other parts of his scoring ability in a dominant win for [program_tooltip program_id='2305499' first='Hoosier' last='State Prospects'] 17u on Friday night. He used his strength as a guard to finish through contact connecting on a couple of And-1's where he used his right hand to finish. Odle scored 17 points in the game. He is definitely one for small college programs to continue to follow.

At this point we know what this 6'3" wing from South Bend Riley High School can do as a catch-and-shoot threat. That is what has had him on our radar for years. However, what is continuing to make him noticeable to college coaches is how he has expanded his game. He still shot it in from deep on Friday night, but he also found ways to score around the basket and in the intermediate range while also catching our attention as an active and versatile defender. Packer is one to check out for Indiana Attack Basketball Club 17u.

This left-handed wing really dominated the competition in the paint and as a driver. He consistently got to the rim off of the bounce, used his size to punish smaller defenders, and finished consistently through contact due to his physicality. Perry scored a game-high 19 points for Hoosier State Prospect's 17u in what turned into a blowout victory. His combination of size, strength, and athleticism is something for college programs to take a look at.

Admittedly, Taylor got off to a bit of a slow start for LVL UP - Brown 17u. That was especially true from beyond the arc. However, the super physical 6'3" forward started to see the ball go in by punishing closeouts and scoring around the basket. That is when he started to connect from deep a couple of times. The rising senior at Bishop Luers High School finished with 31 points on the night, but LVL UP - Brown came up three points short on the scoreboard.
