June was a busy month covering all of the scholastic events here in the state of Indiana including great live period events like the Charlie Hughes Showcase and IBCA Top 100 Showcase. However, on top of all of that, we also spent a great deal of time in June updating our prospect rankings. The rising seniors in the Class of 2026 had their expanded and updated prospect rankings released on Monday, June 30th. Now, as we always do here at Prep Hoops Indiana, it is time to dive deeper into the rankings. Over the course of this week we will highlight stock-risers, new names, Watch List players to know, and much more. Here is a look at some of the top names to know on the Watch List. These are guys that can absolutely play at the college level.

You have to be REALLY good as a sub-6'0" guard to make it at the college level. Kleckner has the combination of skills that will allow him to do so. The 5'9" point guard from Kouts High School averaged 17.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game proving himself as a talented, reliable playmaker. Most impressively, Klecker shot 63-161 (39.1%) from three-point range. His ability to score from beyond the arc will catch the attention of college coaches.

We had been aware of Loring for a little while simply from seeing the numbers he put up at Eastern Hancock High School. However, we recently saw him play for the first time in person at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. Another smaller guard, Loring makes up for his size with an impressive pop of athleticism at the end of his drives. He gets great elevation on his jump shots and can get up to finish against size around the basket. Loring put up 13.2 points per game as a junior while shooting 40-109 (36.7%) from beyond the arc.

It is very rare that a prospect slips through the cracks here at Prep Hoops Indiana. However, we also pride ourselves on consistently getting out and seeing new prospects. Admittedly, we simply haven't seen McCray, or haven't seen him enough, to have a thorough evaluation and therefore he remains on the Watch List. The 6'3"-6'4" athletic wing has shown enough on film for us to know he is excellent in transition, an above the rim finisher, and a versatile, multi-positional defender. This Michigan City High School rising senior is a college-level player.

We had hoped to see this prospect at the IBCA Top 100 Showcase, but he was not in attendance. Still, after a monster junior season at Adams Central High School, Reber is one for small college coaches to get eyes on. The 6'3" wing/forward is excellent around the basket and a very good positional rebounder. His athleticism carries him a lot which certainly is not a bad thing. Reber averaged 14.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a junior.

It is no secret that we generally keep La Lumiere prospects out of our rankings. Smith is a guy though who has stuck it out on the "regional" La Lu teams and has always played for Indiana-based AAU programs. He is now a 6'2"-6'3" athletic guard with plus length, good playmaking skills as a lead ball handler, and a versatile defensive presence. College programs should definitely be watching him through the month of July.

Spurgeon played alongside two very good players last season at Jimtown High School who are moving on to play in college. The 6'0" played his role well averaging 9.5 points per game and leading the team in three-point shooting. Now he will take on a go-to role and appears to be ready for the task based on how he has played through the spring and summer. He is another one that college coaches should check out in July.

Over the course of a couple of Prep Hoops Circuit events we have seen this 6'3" guard from Victory Christian shoot the ball very well from beyond the arc. Whitaker checks the boxes in terms positional size on the perimeter and has a very quick release off of the catch. The way he can squeeze them off and make tough shots in tight windows is very impressive. Definitely a worthwhile prospect for college coaches to see.
