There are a lot of great basketball venues, especially in the state of Indiana, but it is really hard to beat the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground at the beautiful venue on Wednesday, as we will through Sunday, taking in the action at the annual 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Let's dive on in and highlight some of the top in-state performers from Wednesday's action.

It was Addison who would consistently come up with a big shot, usually off of the bounce, to keep [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] 17u within striking distance of Lu Dort Elite 17u on Wednesday morning. The shifty 5'10" guard has really proven himself as a shot-maker this spring and summer and it translated to the 3SSB stage. He finished with 16 points in a loss, but it was impressive to watch him continue to produce while playing against a couple of committed Division I guards.

Quite simply, Baker went off for [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 15u on Wednesday morning to help lead them to an impressive victory over Anthony Edwards Five 15u. The 6'0" guard from Lawrence North High School was hot from deep early on in the game starting off with three three-point shots and then started to slice the defense up off of the dribble. One of his late buckets, a crafty floater in the lane, put Team Indiana up by 23 points before claiming the 70-57 victory. Baker led all scorers in the contest with 23 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140435' first='Rylon' last='Gore'] can flat out shoot the basketball. The 5'10" guard came in off of the bench and started his score off with a tough floater over the biggest kid on the floor for One Time Legends 16u. He then ended the first half with a catch-and-shoot three-point shot. However, he was far from done. He knocked in three more triples in the second half including an impressive side-step three off of the dribble while moving to his left. Gore ended up leading a balanced scoring attack with 14 points for [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] 16u.

We already knew that Reed was one of the better pure shooters in Indiana's rising junior class. Therefore, him hitting four three-point shots in [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] 17u's impressive Wednesday morning victory shouldn't have been all that surprising. However, it was the type of shots that he hit that really made this performance stand out. The 6'3” lefty makes tough shots in tight windows. He shot faked and got fouled early going 3-3 at the free throw line. Then, he knocked down a corner three of a flare. He also ghosted a ballscreen into a pop for a three at the top of the key. Finally he made a catch-and-shoot look on the right wing. Very impressive shooting performance.

We have seen this 6'4" sharpshooter from South Bend St. Joseph put up some big numbers several times. In fact, at this very event a year ago he started off with a massive game. On Wednesday, the rising senior for Indiana Basketball Club 17u put up 33 points in a hard fought loss, 77-71, to Gamepoint Elite 17u. Shrewsberry is one of the best pure shooters in the state of Indiana.

Hoopmatics 17u qualified for 3SSB play after a great spring and were matched up against a very talented Power Five 17u squad on Wednesday afternoon. However, they held their own valiantly and certainly looked like they belonged. That was especially true with Williams. The 6'3" guard out of Purdue Poly High School was able to operate using his size and athleticism that translated just fine to this high level of play. He consistently got to the basket, finished against size, and converted when he would earn a trip to the free throw line. Small college programs should be taking a look at Williams.
