I spent both Saturday and Sunday at Xavier Team Camp watching competitive action from teams from Ohio and neighboring states, in this article I'll break down the 2028 and 2029 standouts from Sunday at the camp.

Huber Heights Wayne is always going to get after it on both ends of the court and they were extremely scrappy going against one of the most talented teams from Indiana for a majority of the game. Chivers is a stocky guard who has an impressive feel for the game at his age and was productive as a slasher and defender. Chivers turned defense to offense with a steal that turned into a breakaway layup and even took a charge as well. You won't find many 2028 prospects in the Dayton area more productive at the high school level than Chivers.

I was very intrigued with Davis after catching him with La Salle as a freshman, making a lot of plays defensively and having an athletic build for his age. Flash forward to this summer and Davis has become a primary scoring option for his team and is starting to show more confidence shooting the basketball from 3-point range. If Davis can consistently knock down 3-point shots, he'll be an intriguing college prospect thanks to the other ways he can impact the game.

One of the top prospects in Ohio's 2028 class, Joiner was everywhere on Sunday on both ends of the court. With one of the top motors and physical tools in the state, Joiner got too many blocks and offensive rebounds to count thanks to his length, timing and aggressive hands that catch and control almost every rebound that comes his way. Summit Country Day has a lot of depth for a Division V program but Joiner is their most productive player on both ends of the court as just a Sophomore.

Kettering Alter had to replace a lot of talent that graduated from last year's team and in steps in a talented freshman guard who will be sure to make an impact at the varsity level this winter. Peagler Jr played tough on ball defense and had a couple steals and scores while also being unselfish and throwing the ball ahead in transition. Able to beat defenders off the dribble, Peagler Jr's ball handling ability might be his best skill right now. Based on what I saw on Sunday, I'd be surprised if there were many better guards in southwest Ohio's 2029 class.

Clay caught fire from the perimeter as a flat out shot maker from the outside. Able to hit shots off the catch and as a pick and roll ball handler, Clay was getting busy on Sunday afternoon. After averaging almost 8 PPG as a freshman for Ballard and having their top four scorers graduate, Clay is set up to have a breakout sophomore season. While this was my first time catching Clay in person and was impressed with his scoring ability, I'll be looking to see what other ways he can impact the game during my next scout of his.

I was very impressed with Grivna's two way impact as a rising freshman playing against one of the top teams from the Cincinnati area on Sunday. An impact shot-blocker at the rim, Grivna has an advanced feel for contesting without fouling and simply using his length to alter shots instead of needing to block everything in sight. Offensively, Grivna caught contested entry passes and displayed soft touch on mid-range looks. Very impressed with his skill level at a young age and expect Grivna to continue to improve over the years as he builds strength and confidence with the ball in his hands.
