Altoona junior [player_tooltip player_id='2140924' first='Graysen' last='Becker'] (6-2) may have been the most impressive player during the first day of the two-day WBY Tournament in Marshfield. The bouncy class of 2027 lead guard scored a whopping 39 points in a win 59-41 win over Tomah. He was able to use his quick first step, quickness, strength and athleticism to blow by opponents to score at the rim and from the foul line. Late in the evening, Becker scored 26 points in a 55-49 win over Medford. Once again, Becker was nearly impossible to keep out the lane as he got downhill at will. He also buried a three-point shot and earned multiple trips to the foul stripe. Becker recently picked up a NCAA Division I offer from Cal State-Bakersfield.

Marshfield senior [player_tooltip player_id='1973149' first='Chris' last='Pohl'] (6-8), ranked No. 15 among state players in the 2026 class by Prep Hoops Wisconsin and owner of multiple NCAA Division II scholarship offers, also stood out Friday. The skilled forward, who plans to take part in the North Dakota State Elite Camp in the new few days, scored from three-point range, in the post, from the foul line and in transition. His skill level is extremely impressive for a 6-foot-8 player as he can handle, pass and shoot the ball from the perimeter in addition to going inside and scoring in the post. Pohl had 17 points and two three-point baskets in a 45-32 win over River Falls and then had 22 points and four threes in a 55-50 win over Mosinee.

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2386464' first='Brayden' last='Reinke'] (6-4) of Mosinee did not have his primary sidekick on the court with him as senior [player_tooltip player_id='2432828' first='Treve' last='Stoffel'] (6-4) is sitting out the tournament while preparing to help the Mosinee baseball program next week at the sectional level. Despite being the focal point of opposing defenses and without Stoffel on the floor to take away some of the defensive attention, Reinke nonetheless shined. He went off for 30 points in the 55-50 loss to Marshfield, last year's WIAA Division 1 state runner-up. He is a tough player to keep off the scoreboard because of his ability to make mid-range shots, get to the basket and draw fouls. He has strong moves to the hoop which keep defenders off balance, and he can also stop on a dime and rise up for a short jump shot that usually ends up at the bottom of the net. Earlier in the night, Reinke had 16 points in a loss to Stevens Point.

Senior shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2410538' first='Brody' last='Graetz'] (6-1) of River Falls is coming off a strong jump campaign for coach Zach Turpin and he carried over his strong play Friday, scoring 15 hard-earned points in a 45-32 loss to Marshfield before netting 21 points and hitting three triples in a victory over Stevens Point. Graetz showed more quickness and aggressiveness off the bounce in addition to his usual success from deep. He has appeared to improve his physical strength and burst off the dribble, which aided him on drives to the basket. River Falls is expected to contend for the Big Rivers Conference title in 2025-26 in large part because of the return of Graetz.

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2509449' first='Carter' last='Sommer'] (6-3) of Columbus Catholic has grown an inch or so over the past year and has also put on some weight. The result of his evolving maturity was on full display Friday in the Dons' 60-28 win over Cadott. Sommer took over in the second half after a fairly tight first half. He scored 12 of his game-high 19 points in the second half and had 10 points in just over two minutes at one point. He drained two triples, was quick with the ball in transition, and took the ball to the basket with authority. Sommer was a bit quieter in the Dons' second game, a 42-33 loss to Winneconne, finishing with two threes and eight points in the contest.

Winneconne senior [player_tooltip player_id='2500850' first='Parker' last='Ingles'] (5-10) had it going from outside the three-point arc while helping the Wolves to a 2-0 record. Ingles had two threes and 13 points in a 43-33 win over McDonell Catholic before going for 15 points and three triples in a 42-33 win over Columbus Catholic. Ingles is shot ready when the ball gets to him and isn't shy about putting up long-distance attempts. He appears to have a very good young prospect to play alongside in freshman guard [player_tooltip player_id='2436991' first='Drew' last='Lenz'] (5-9), who had 18 points versus McDonell and 11 against Columbus.

A Few Other Standouts ...
Abbotsford split a pair of games, beating Pacelli 63-34 and falling to Thorp 45-42. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2951766' first='Koren' last='Decker'] (5-10) was outstanding in each contest as he went for 23 points and seven three-point baskets against Pacelli, and 17 points and two triples in the win over Thorp ... Thorp sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2448150' first='Cooper' last='Rosemeyer'] (6-4) showed the ability to score in the paint while also stepping outside and knocking down some three-point shots. He had 23 points in a win over Colby White and eight points and two threes in the win over Abbotsford ... Tomah junior [player_tooltip player_id='2371688' first='Quinn' last='Gerke'] (6-2) had 17 points in a loss to Altoona before torching Wausau East for 25 points in a 49-45 victory. Gerke made three shots from outside the arc, but he also zipped by defenders several times and was able to finish at the rim against East ... Incoming freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2920633' first='Briar' last='Ostrowski'] (5-7) of Columbus Catholic had 12 points in a win over Colby White and 13 in a loss to Pacelli.
