It's June! The Scholastic Period has begun, meaning prospects across the Palmetto State are back with their High School programs for the next 30 days competing in various camps and events. Friday I was in Columbia, South Carolina, for the annual University of South Carolina Men's Basketball Team Camp. With over 80 teams in attendance, there are going prospects of all shapes and sizes including some of the best of the best. These five prospects are rising Sophomores and Juniors who performed well on Day One and are seen highly amongst their peers, college coaches, and other scouts. Check them out:

Leading off this list of Highly-Touted 2027s + 2028s is [player_tooltip player_id='1931197' first='Josh' last='Gamble']. Josh had a solid first game in Columbia, particularly in the second half where his mid-range jumper started to come on. He is comfortable getting to his spots off the dribble, in transition, and in the pick-and-roll. Gamble handles the ball with a good crossover and always has his head up to find teammates too. In the win over Richland Northeast, Josh finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Luis is a new face to Gray Collegiate Academy and one who comes to the War Eagles in great form. Echevarria went for 9 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals in a matchup with Covent Day (NC) on Friday. Luis was a key figure on both ends of the floor, using his physical hands and quick feet to cause chaos for opponents on the defensive end and his bounce and shot-making to put the ball in the basket on the offensive end. Echevarria will fit in nicely to this GCA squad as he can play either position in the backcourt and doesn't always need the ball to be a positive.

Next up on the list is Ben Lippen's [player_tooltip player_id='1806932' first='Maddox' last='Stockman']. Maddox had a really nice weekend at the USC Team Camp, averaging over 18 PPG across three games. I caught up with him in a 23-point game, where he showcased a crafty handle, creativity at the rim, and the ability to play off two feet in the paint. Stockman is a solid playmaker who is capable of getting himself a bucket or setting up a teammate. However, he is also a difference-maker on the defensive end of the floor with strong hands to strip the ball away from opponents.

Kiishawn is part of a pair of Hillcrest Guards that stood out to me on Friday. Farrow does a great job of navigating bodies with the ball in his hands and has a knack for drawing falls when other shots aren't falling. Kiishawn has a stronger lower frame which allows him to be physical on both ends of the floor. Farrow can handle through contact, finish around rim protectors, and guard bigger guards. He also has a nice crossover and is a nice pull-up mid-range game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2817200' first='Reece' last='Jackson'] may not be highly ranked on Prep Hoops SC yet, but he will debut in the upcoming 2028 Rankings and is starting to draw some eyes in the Columbia area. Jackson is a playmaker on both ends of the floor with his ability to move his feet well, force turnovers, efficiently knockdown perimeter shots, and pull up in the mid-range. He also excels in the transition after rebounds and steals where he can use his athleticism to finish above retreating defenders. Reece put up 15 points on 3-7 3FG in a game-one loss.
