. Josh had a solid first game in Columbia, particularly in the second half where his mid-range jumper started to come on. He is comfortable getting to his spots off the dribble, in transition, and in the pick-and-roll. Gamble handles the ball with a good crossover and always has his head up to find teammates too. In the win over Richland Northeast, Josh finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

will be one of the biggest impact transfers in 4A, switching to South Florence in 4A Region 5. Gamble led West Florence last season at 16.8 Points Per Game on 48% shooting. This year, he will get time in both spots in the backcourt for the Bruins. He has a great combination of scoring moves including spot-up threes, floaters, through-contact layups, and mid-range jump shots. Gamble is also a good passer, excels in transition, and is a very capable on-ball defender. On the defensive end, he will likely be used on the opponent’s best Guard throughout the season.

begins the final article in my 2024 Film Room Series. He is the highest-ranked 2027 featured and he submitted highlights from a recent Event with UAA’s Team Curry. Gamble will be a key piece this year for South Florence HS because of his two-way abilities. He can play either position in the backcourt due to his tough on-ball defense, consistent perimeter shooting, and playmaking skills. His tape also showed an additional layer to his game that I haven’t seen before in person: a skill as a pick-and-roll ball handler and an ability to get into the paint and finish for himself. Josh is also willing to put his body on the line and draw a charge too.

Gamble is wearing a new uniform this off season. Josh is now at South Florence HS after playing last season at West Florence HS. Gamble had no problem scoring the ball here some today from out top with his play. Josh was able to drop a few floaters along the way. Gamble feels comfortable playing off and on the ball. The Bruins will have a solid roster this season intact back in the Magic City.

Gamble is a new face in a new place this season as he switched over from West Florence to South Florence. He fits in with this Bruins squad very nicely as he can be effective on or off the ball. Josh had most of his usage as the Point Guard, balancing the many mouths to feed on the offensive end well. However, he is also a knockdown three-point shooter which adds a unique wrinkle when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands. Gamble is also a very good defender who you can trust on an opponent’s Point Guard. He put up 8 Points on 2-4 3FG with 4 Assists in a win over Cathedral, earning an early rest as his team got up by a good margin in the second half.

Gamble has scoring on his mind for the Knights. He did that this season for the Knights as he averaged 16 ppg this season. Josh feels comfortable scoring the ball from all 3 levels on the floor at times.
Gamble keeps the ball low to the deck and really likes to penetrate the gaps and paint for buckets. Josh will deliver good on the ball pressure on the defensive end of the court.

Taking a Gamble on this rising freshman star is proving to more and more of a safe bet by the day. West Florence’s boys were the first male team on the card for Monday’s showcase. Gamble led the 4A Knights to a successful defense of The Castle with a 19-point performance in a 59-41 victory over 1A Johnsonville. While his game is still developing, the scoring prowess he is already displaying as a freshman should serve the Knights well over the next several seasons. Throughout the spring and summer months of AAU ball, Gamble sported the uniform of Mark Gerald Elite.

was a prospect that provided a ton of energy for Team 1 with his ability to find others in space and force turnovers on the defensive end. He stepped up in a big way whenever his team needed a big stop or big play to get his entire squad going. He was an unselfish wing prospect who showed he could play with anybody else on the floor and find a way to make an impact right away. He’ll be at West Florence High over the next four seasons.
