It’s June! The Scholastic Period has begun, meaning prospects across the Palmetto State are back with their High School programs for the next 30 days competing in various camps and events. This weekend I was in North Augusta, South Carolina for the annual South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Live Team Camp. Over 100 SCHSL Schools were in attendance, playing in front of College Coaches. These five players stood out the most in front of me across the two days I was there:

. He was terrific in the Red Raiders’ opener against Wilson with a full sideline of College Coaches. One school represented was Georgia Southern, who offered Coleman after the game. He was extremely efficient in scoring the ball and did most of it off the dribble. He knocked down three threes, got to his spots in the mid-range, and posted up smaller guards. Caden did all of this with good positional size and lots of athleticism, but he also picked up the opponent’s top option on the other end of the floor. Coleman put up 32 points in the win.

(Ridge View) – I caught up with Korie and the Ridge View Blazers in a high-level matchup with TL Hanna. One of Corbett’s best attributes is his ability to raise his game against the best competition, and even though it’s June that’s what he did against the Yellow Jackets. He used his size and athleticism to make plays on both ends of the floor, blocking shots and forcing turnovers on defense, and capitalizing with strong drives and finishes on offense. Korie also knocked down some jump shots including a left-corner three and a free-throw line pull-up. He finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

. Wiersma is a big with a high motor and a developing handle to make him more well-rounded on the offensive end. He was dominant on the defensive end, tallying 5 blocks, 3 steals, and 10 rebounds. Lucas frequently looked to push the pace in transition after making a defensive play and it led to several scores for himself and others. Wiersma also had a very efficient day scoring the ball as he finished through contact, cleaned up misses, and showed off a right-handed hook shot. He had 12 points to go with the impressive defensive stats.
Aaden Bruton-Smith

(Dorman) – Aaden has been in great form over the last three months and put up another strong showing against Westwood at the SCBCA Live Event. He knocked down three threes on four attempts, all of which came from the right corner when defenders over-helped on drives. However, Bruton-Smith also showed that he could create a shot off the dribble, driving closeouts and pulling up in the mid-range. He was also a factor on the defensive end, where he used his length to make life difficult for opponents. Aaden went for 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in the win.

might not seem like a name that may fit in with the others on this list, but he was as impressive as anyone in front of me this weekend. Corbin was fantastic on the offensive end, having the show run through him with his ability to handle, pass, and shoot. He can make passes in tight windows or start a break with outlet passes and he can score in the paint or on the perimeter. He was also active when he didn’t have the ball in his hands and would run the floor in transition, find soft spots in a zone, and get good positioning for offensive rebounds. Guerry tallied 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in a win over Northwestern.
