Apart from some struggles at the line that kept McBee in it late and held him back from a 40-point night, Jalen had a spectacular performance in Lewisville's Tuesday-night win. He went for 36 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals on 15-29 FG and 6-15 FT. The game-winner showed just what he does best - playing through contact with a head of steam towards the rim. The Panthers were unable to keep Culp out of the paint almost all game long, but even when they were, he effectively pulled up and knocked down mid-range jumpers. Jalen was also important on the defensive end of the floor, leading the Lions in rebounding and forcing turnovers on and off the ball. Keep an eye on Culp to make a leap up when the rankings are updated after the season.

Jordan was another one of the important pieces to Lewisville's winning puzzle. He opened up the game with a quick layup off the tip, then closed it with a crafty finish to put his team up seven with 1:30 left in the game. In between, Strong had a nice mid-range jumper, a leak-out transition lay, and contributed with a pair of assists and steals. Jordan is not the most physically dominant guard, but he offers a nice change of pace from Culp because he can affect the game with quickness and smart basketball.

The Lions' defense featured a lot of pressure and zone looks, so despite not being a true big man, Patterson was often the guy closest to the rim. He helped protect the rim with two blocks and also had one steal, but other than that, it wasn't a huge stat line from him. Khemani did, however, do a great job of boxing out in the second half and clearing space for his teammates to come in and clean the glass. He has a nice frame at 6'3", 220 lbs, capable of playing multiple positions at this level.

The lone active, ranked player on the McBee Roster is [player_tooltip player_id='3026271' first='Gunnar' last='Brigman']. He did most of his work on the glass in their matchup with Lewisville, hauling in 8 rebounds. Gunnar is a physical forward who showed some signs up good touch despite only having 2 points, and also used his size to protect the rim with 1 block. The Panthers were down their top big man last night, so if that continues, look for Brigman to get more comfortable and productive as he adjusts to an increased role.

Rounding out my evaluations from McBee vs Lewisville in the Wednesday Film Room is Melton. He went for 21 points on an impressive 4 3PM, including a key steal turned into a three which was a part of the late comeback. His perimeter shooting was crucial to the Panther offense, and the Lion defense adjusted to it, giving him space to make plays for himself and others when run off the three-point line. Jailyn finished with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals to go along with the big shooting day.
