Here are my Sunday Standouts from Riverside Brookfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323617' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] St. Laurence 2027

One of the better performances of the day came from this skilled undersized guard who makes space with his handle and initiates contact. Markese can score on both sides of the rim. His footwork is a major part of his game and makes him hard to guard. He scored 28 points and also scored the winning bucket against Neuqua Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] Warren 2028

I don't know who else needs to know this about the kid but he's a flat-out winner. Davis put on a clinic for all the coaches in attendance. He just fills up the stats sheets with points and assists. Jaxson made shots from around the rim and from behind the arc. He's good at attacking in small spaces by creating contact holding off the defender with his body while having complete control of the handle then scores at the precise moment. In the battle of the two #1 players of their class Davis went off for 32 points and then scored 27 in the second game. High major prospect all the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2442174' first='Anthony' last='Glaviano'] Norte Dame 2026

Anthony put on a shooting clinic in the field house against a very good Libertyville squad. The 6'2 guard lit up the nets with 9 threes. Glaviano is good because he doesn't need the ball in his hands. He moves well off the ball and sets screens to get himself open. He plays within the structure of his team's offense and just didn't miss. He finished the game with 35 points. Going into Romeoville he's a player to catch next weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125687' first='Travis' last='Brown'] West Aurora 2027

Travis was impressive Sunday afternoon. His best basketball is still ahead of him but I like the way he contributes now. A wiry guard who knows how to score given the situation. He shot the ball very well from deep which opened up the opportunity to drive later in the game. Brown has the ball on a string and is fun to watch on the break. He scored 27 points in the game I covered.

Other Notables

[player_tooltip player_id='2531961' first='Amarion' last='Smith-Holley'] Peoria Richwoods 2028

In the matchup against the top 2027 guard Amarion didn't back down. He poured in 27 points of his own. Dynamic guard who knows how to get a bucket. His change of pace with the rock is very good but he also can put some spin on the ball for very creative layups. A top underclassman in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323622' first='Damari' last='Stephens'] Kenwood 2027

Stephens had another big day scoring 29 points against Glenbrook South. Skill wing player who combines strength and mobility when putting the ball in the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2538631' first='Grant' last='Smith'] Lyons Township 2028

Grant is getting his first run with the varsity squad and he's excelling immediately. An energetic 6'7 forward who can play inside and out. He runs the floor well and has some skill with the ball in his hands. He's so athletic in space and will be a top option soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617446' first='Rico' last='D'Alessandro'] Maine South 2026

What a game he had against city power Simeon. Rico is a power forward who can do many things on the court. He's physical around the basket and can take bumps in the scoring process. If teams try and take away driving lanes D'Alessandro will knock shots down. His motor is always running on the court and could be a two-sport athlete at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839970' first='Jordan' last='Williams'] Fremd 2026

Got my first in-person look at Williams and yes he passes the eye test. College-ready frame with above-average skill set. Lefty who can make a play from all three levels. Jordan has game to the point that if he ever goes on a run I find it hard to believe that anyone would be able to stop him. He will have many options to choose from when it comes to college next year.
