On Friday and Saturday, I attended the NEPSAC Showcase at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. There were four courts going on at once and games going from 8:00am to 9:00pm. Though I tried to watch as many games and teams as possible, I didn't get to see everyone — so my coverage this weekend will be reflective of the games I saw.

Below are five transfers that will help out powerhouses Brewster and New Hampton.

Kerr comes from Charlotte, North Carolina and looks more than ready to compete and excel at one of the best prep schools in the country. The 6-foot-5 wing is super long and an absolute freak athlete in transition; he was leaking out for breakaway dunks all game and catching lobs over bigger defenders with ease against Vermont Academy. He can really elevate. He also has a smooth handle and can get to his spots on the floor for easy dribble pull-ups, though he took some questionable ones. I would expect him to be one of Brewster's best players this season, and he's only a rising junior. He's already on the radar of high major coaches.

Ayala comes from Milton Academy where he was a standout sophomore and probably their best player. Now, with Brewster, he has an opportunity to showcase some more of his playmaking skills and defense, two facets of his game that really popped in their win against Vermont Academy. He slides his feet ridiculously well and had some really nice assists on reads at the rim. The rising junior will be on the radar of high major coaches in no time, and it'll be awesome to see how he develops playing at a higher level of competition.

Waddles comes from California and projects to be one of the leading scorers for New Hampton, which lost three D1 players from last season. The 6-foot-6 wing can really shoot it from three and was knocking down shots off the dribble like a guard -- he has a smooth dribble game and a really silky shot. He also gets out in transition and uses his length and athleticism to finish above the rim. His size and frame allows him to guard multiple positions, too, which he'll have to do in a really tough NEPSAC Class AAA. He's a versatile wing who should be a mid or low major D1 player from the looks of it (though I only saw him play 1.5 games).

Onwe is a small forward by way of San Antonio, Texas, who has an intriguing and unique set of skills to bring to New Hampton. The lefty is a fantastic rebounder and defender for his size who held his own against far larger big men. He's very disciplined and an absolute dog on that end of the floor. He has some really strong southpaw takes to the rim and can also hit the middy, but I bet he'll be a little things guy -- and an excellent one at that -- for a New Hampton team looking to make another run to the NEPSAC Class AAA championship.

Merritt is an athletic guard from Troy, New York who made his debut for New Hampton this weekend and impacted the game in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-3 guard is able to play both on and off the ball as a result of his ball handling, feel for the game, and shooting ability, but he's most impressive when getting into the lane and using his off hand to get floaters and mid rangers off. He's so under control and changes speeds/directions very efficiently and effectively. He also defends like a madman and should cause hell for opposing guards this season. Excited to watch him play with Tabales and develop some chemistry.
