Waddles is a SHOOTER. And when you pair his ability to make shots from the mid range and three with his 6-foot-6 frame and super long arms, you start to see the budding potential. Yes he’s skinny and could certainly use some extra pounds, but he’ll probably put on some weight this year and moving forward. Regardless, he brings solid versatility to both ends and can work in any system because of his ability to guard multiple positions, rebound, and hit shots from everywhere on the floor. He’s an awesome plug-and-play guy for New Hampton.

Waddles makes his first appearance in the New England rankings at #11. The New Hampton School wing is a versatile, two-way prospect that thinks the game at a high level. He can operate with or without the basketball, shows good instincts as a cutter, and is a tough finisher around the rim. His playmaking ability stands out, while his perimeter jumper continues to come along. Defensively, he can guard in space or in the paint, rebounds at a high clip, and is seemingly always in the right spot in rotation.

Waddles was a standout performer during the scholastic period, taking the opportunity to announce his presence in the region. The New Hampton wing is an ultra-versatile defender that plays with terrific effort on that end of the floor and really shines as someone who can take the ball off the defensive backboard and start the break in transition. He’s got quality size on the wing and is another prospect that doesn’t get sped up, showing a good feel for playing at different speeds in ball screens, and the ability to score it at multiple levels. He continues to evolve as a playmaker and profiles as a prospect that will be able to operate as a secondary ball-handler and decision maker at the next level. Maine offered coming out of the scholastic period and I’d bet they won’t be the last school to do so this year.

Waddles comes from California and projects to be one of the leading scorers for New Hampton, which lost three D1 players from last season. The 6-foot-6 wing can really shoot it from three and was knocking down shots off the dribble like a guard — he has a smooth dribble game and a really silky shot. He also gets out in transition and uses his length and athleticism to finish above the rim. His size and frame allows him to guard multiple positions, too, which he’ll have to do in a really tough NEPSAC Class AAA. He’s a versatile wing who should be a mid or low major D1 player from the looks of it (though I only saw him play 1.5 games).
