Midwest Live brought out some of the top teams from Ohio with neighboring states also sending some of their top teams to compete in a live period event that was attended by over 200 college coaches, in this article I'll break down the standouts I caught on Sunday from the event!

I'm not sure I saw a better out of state team than Avon from the greater Indianapolis area. Their balance on their team was impressive as they moved the ball, had size, shooting and athleticism. Minnett checked a few of those boxes as he knocked down a couple perimeter shots, had a few strong finishes at the rim by attacking closeouts and didn't let the ball stick to his hands. When the ball moves as quickly as Avon had it moving, everybody on the court gets the opportunity to get open shots and score and in the game I caught Minnett was on the receiving end of a handful of open shots that he knocked down. St Francis was Minnett's first offer about a year ago and I'd imagine other regional scholarship programs will take interest of him during the summer.

Lima Shawnee looked like a well oiled machine this weekend as their offense was executing at a high level with the Bertke brothers creating a majority of the offense for their team. I'm always so impressed with the sets that Lima Shawnee has, generating wide open shots for their best players. Bertke does an excellent job of running off screens, cutting and running the floor to get easy looks at the basketball. It's a major compliment when a player can make the game look easy as a featured scoring option and that's what I notice with Bertke when he plays for Lima Shawnee. Bertke received an offer from local powerhouse Findlay back in May and they had multiple coaches watching him this weekend.

New Albany has a talented squad once again this season and Ford stood out as a solid complimentary piece who is ready to make a big impact as a senior. One of the top shooters in central Ohio, Ford knocked down some deep 3-pointers that came off spot-ups or pick and fade actions. Both games I've seen of New Albany this summer Ford has shot the ball with accuracy and confidence and that's an easy way for him to stay on the court this winter as the Eagles look to make a conference and regional title push.

Warrensville Heights has a squad full of hungry athletes who compete on the defensive end of the court and play an aggressive brand of basketball. Nellemsbery is a nice addition to that group as he does a lot of the things Warrensville Heights is already good at while also making shots at a high rate from 3-point range. Nellemsbery had two 3-pointers off BLOB actions to get him a look in the corner and also has slimmed down a little while maintaining his strong frame for a wing forward. Look for Warrensville Heights to once again be a contender in northeast Ohio.

Berea Midpark plays an extremely fun brand of basketball with a trio of 2027 prospects that have the freedom to play offensively how they want to. Clay was in more of a score-first mentality on Sunday with some drive and finishes at the rim after he got by his primary defender. Clay also mixed in a couple of nice skips to shooters as well. If you like scoring points, Berea Midpark should be a team you watch this winter as few teams get up and down the court as quickly as they do in Ohio.

Winton Woods had a dominant victory on Sunday as their entire team was dominant on both ends of the court. This allowed for some new names to step in and impress and that's exactly what Reid did in the second half of the blowout victory. Reid knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and physically looks the part. A football and track athlete as well for Winton Woods, Reid has the speed and athleticism to make an impact on the hardwood this winter.

Hilliard Bradley had an impressive weekend with a young squad filled with 2027 and 2028 talent. Norris looks taller than he was last season and has continued to develop his game as more than just a shooter. Norris had a couple sweet reverse layup finishes in the game I saw and also makes the right read as a passer whether he's stationary or driving. Most college coaches aren't worried about 2028 prospects but I had multiple coaches mention how impressed they were with Norris game. Based on how they looked this weekend, there won't be many better teams in central Ohio this winter than the Jags.

Asberry followed his coach from Richmond Heights to Euclid and looked comfortable in a new shade of Blue this weekend. A quick guard who wants to play in an up-tempo environment, the athleticism that he's surrounded with on Euclid is a perfect fit for his style of play. In the second half Asberry knocked down three corner 3-pointers as his team rolled to a victory.
