One of the most skilled guards in the 2028 class, Norris had a strong opening game in a statement win over 99OVR in a rematch of the 15 U 3SSB championship. Norris does a nice job playing with pace and using hesitation moves to throw off the defense. Norris does a nice job staying in control on the ball and seems to never get rushed. When Norris can find ways to beat his primary defender off the dribble and gain separation he is extremely tough to slow down.

Helping lead Hilliard Bradley to the state title game, Norris is the fourth brother in a family that’s sent the three older brothers all to the Division I level where they’ve all found success. Norris is simply too good of a shooter, too tough and has too high of a basketball IQ to think he won’t establish a winning role at the Division I level. Recently picking up and offer from Ohio, Norris should expect to hear from a lot of mid major programs this summer once Division I coaches can start directly reaching out to 2028 prospects in June.

Hilliard Bradley put it all together and put up there best performance of the year so far vs Central Hardin (KY). Norris continued to build momentum as a rising name in Ohio’s 2028 class. He was relentless defensively, disrupting Hardin’s guards all game and turning pressure into 5 steals. Offensively, Norris showed a real three-level scoring ability and feel as a playmaker, finishing with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists while knocking down three triples. The poise, energy, and two way impact he played with stood out, especially considering he only logged three quarters.

One of the top players on the Midwest Basketball Club 15 U team, Norris had an excellent weekend in Rock Hill where he led his team to the 3SSB Palmetto Road championship. Norris is the fourth in the line of brothers who have all gone on to play Division I basketball. The lefty is already an elite 3-point shooter and plays with the toughness and elite basketball IQ you’d expect from a Norris brother. A guard who impacts winning on both ends, makes shots and isn’t selfish, Norris is going to make a college coach happy in a few years when his time comes.

Maybe my standout performer of the entire day, Norris was money from 3-point range and had a couple righty floater finishes at the rim to help his team win a competitive quarterfinal battle with Team Loaded. A tough guard, Norris takes care of the basketball, defends and makes sure his team is organized on both ends of the court. With three brothers at the Division I level, Kyp is next in line to follow in their footsteps.

Hilliard Bradley had an impressive weekend with a young squad filled with 2027 and 2028 talent. Norris looks taller than he was last season and has continued to develop his game as more than just a shooter. Norris had a couple sweet reverse layup finishes in the game I saw and also makes the right read as a passer whether he’s stationary or driving. Most college coaches aren’t worried about 2028 prospects but I had multiple coaches mention how impressed they were with Norris game. Based on how they looked this weekend, there won’t be many better teams in central Ohio this winter than the Jags.

The Norris name has been a staple for Hilliard Bradley basketball with coach Brett Norris manning the sidelines for over a decade. Kyp is the last of four boys to play for the Jags as the first three have gone on to play Division I basketball. Kyp is an elite shooter from the outside and plays with the basketball IQ, toughness and defensive intensity you’d expect from a Norris. After an impressive playoff performance to end his freshman season, Norris and Hilliard Bradley are going to be a marquee team to watch in central Ohio next season.

Norris had a strong offensive game for a young Hilliard Bradley squad that is growing game after game. A skilled offensive player, Norris can knock down deep jumpers and plays on balance when he attacks the rim. A high IQ player for his age, Norris plays tough help-side defense and also can read the defense for kickout passes. This looks like one of the best guards in central Ohio’s 2028 class and a name we’ll be closely monitoring throughout his high school career.
